Idk if this really needs to be a post but since I know many of you have asked me how I felt about the finale, I didn't like it tbh

If you did, I love that for you though! It just skimmed over too many things and the characters didn't really matter much at the end of the day

I'm not saying this to engage in debate though, you are allowed to like it regardless of how I feel and vice versa :]

This won't affect the BackUp AU at all also, I am very much still committed to it

Feel free to share your thoughts!

Arrow

I personally liked it, I just think they could have done alot better!

Alicia

I loved it , it's surreal seeing my AU as cannon

Haley The Nerd

It's good for what it is. It could have been better and gave us more information but for what we got, I'm not upset.

Lazy_Lotus

I was bawling so hard that I honestly didn't think much about it overall 😭 But I agree that it skimmed over a bunch of stuff :( I'm just a little sad its over in general 😔 But luckily we have your Backup AU to look forward for hehehehe <3

poisonivy

I haveeeee mixed feelings but my baby Caine got a happy ending and that’s really all I could ask for 🚬

katzebruh

Oh and my backup au will last a while, it's gonna be so long amfjakg

Lazy_Lotus

*insert happy cat jumping gif*

Hyeqis22

Yeah It's good but not the worst. There are lots of stuff unanswered that I wish we could get but I'm also happy with what we got. Maybe because I'm a lil biased since Caine got a happy ending 🤣

JAL_Zen

Glad I saw the leaks it was honestly saving me from true disappointment if I put in effort to wait or money to see it in theaters 😭

katzebruh

Yeahhh I do wish I had refunded my ticket tbh but what's done is done

Niick_Bugz

I'm not sure if I liked it very much...I was surprised that it was a "happy ending" since in my mind, things were going to have a dark turn and although I love Caine, I am not a fan of "dead character coming back and having his redemption" type of thing, but on a positive side, the final scene with the abstractions(I think it was supposed to be Jax, Ribbit and Kaufmo) was so bittersweet I cried a little. The entire scene inside Jax's head is good too

Alphaeus Creatives

I just like that Caine is okay and he got some love from the Moon XD. Someone pointed this out to me about Moon and i find it an amazing detail; Caine found the humans "alluring" because of their free will, and here he is and Moon. "I never programmed you to say you loved me" -Caine. The Moon has free will as well and Caine was amazed at that. Plus Caine finally got what he hes been striving to earn for years, friendship with the humans. I believe this ending is still very lacking. Imagine if bubble was not MYSTERIOUSLY missing? Bubble would have overwhelmed and pushed caine into rage mode again. I believe there is possibility of a "bad ending" where Bubble's dissapearance didnt happen.

katzebruh

Oh yeah no that scene with him and the moon is geuinely the only part I loved with zero issues I want to draw them together so bad

katzebruh

It felt very Disney in a way, which isn't great considering how Disney is kjfkjkf

Alphaeus Creatives

Yaaay glad you liked that scene too. And Id loooove to see thaaaat :D

Песок

I... was not ready for a happy ending. At all

katzebruh

Right? With how much the creator said it was going to be bittersweet and how the cast cried I expected a bit more but I just sorta shrugged and went "okay" ahdkajf

Песок

I was ready for backup-au-like ending or if everyone would abstract or something more that would kill any viewer.. but what actually kill you is the good ending. It's not bad and maybe I love it but yes, expectations were completely different

Песок

I think if it was realised right after episode 8 it would feel better, they give us too much time

Kabanos_ek

For me I don't really know if I like it or not? Like, it was VERY predictable but yet made a lot of sense and at the same time I really love it and also not really because it just seemed a bit... shallow? Idk. But I'm certain about the fact that I absolutely love the fact Caine got much deserved appreciation and love from everyone. And his little bee drawings and stuff were so adorable 🥹 and Kinger teaching Caine how to fish wasn't something I thought would be canon but I love that it is lol

Zuzanna Pietrzak

Yeah I'm kinda dissapointed, I expected something different I didn't like how... It felt too perfect, also it felt kinda awkward pace wise for me Still like the idea, I like the references, I like characters, I just don't like the ending much but happens if. Still gonna enjoy your au so good

Ryder

I liked the ending, I kinda knew this was gonna happen in a way. Though I wish we kinda had more time to develop into it I guess??? Idk if it makes sense. I think its just having to process everything so fast. There’s a type of disappointment attached but I can’t really pinpoint what 😅

Ryder

Also all I could really think of is the Hollow with that ending (the whole real world bits) Which is what I was basing my predictions off of

Amalgamworkz

Definitely feels like a pacing issue is present

Amalgamworkz

There were a bunch of elements I liked, but overall, it felt like a very “meh” execution (they lost me almost immediately with the casual brain scan reveal, and I couldn’t believe it when Jax was abstracted all of a sudden just after seeing him in the previous seen. wth? 🤦). I’m sure they could’ve done better, but I think this is also what happens when you expect so much from something so good (most of the time). Endings for stories like that are always tricky to pull off well

swift

if we hadn’t talked about this one on one I would’ve been so sad to find this out today but we did and I totally get ur perspective and think it’s very very valid. but hey,,,,, caine good ending (also kinda disappointed there wasn’t any more merch)

AubrielleDragon

I absolutely loved it, but at the same time, I'm all like, "What?" I'm sad Jax abstracted, and he won't know about how he's doing in his life from the real world. But I loved it regardless. I'm happy Caine got the ending I always wanted for him, so that's one of the things I'm happy about!

Mellennia's Malarkey

Im more neutral on it myself. Felt a bit rushed, in my opinion (especially with Caine's whole deal and the Cast's acceptance of the situation), but that could just be me. They DID say not all questions would be answered if I remember right, so im not really surprised on that part. Maybe if it were longer and had a little more time to develop everything, but otherwise it still somewhat works, even if it could've been improved with a little more time in my personal opinion. I'd imagine the stress goose was under thanks to toxicity probably wasn't helping matters (and i REALLY hope she gets that WELL deserved rest after this).

Strawberry Candy.mp4

I'm 50/50 about it. I liked it, but I feel like it could've been better. It felt WAY too fast, so much was thrown at us at once and not enough time to process any of it. The fact that Caine managed to live but Jax, Ribbit, and the others didn't come back REALLY pisses me off though. I hate that part so, SO much.

Karol Harba

Personally had huge fight with myself and my thoughts if I like it. Not only it felt really rushed and too fast for me - I would rather have 2 episodes (9 and 10) which are a bit slower - I was somewhat on the side with some people calling it "the Jax show" - not fully, because in my opinion it's over exaggeration, because character can become main character during the show but I somewhat understood from where it's coming from. Especially when it seems like Caine and Pomni were suppose to be main focus - for example they both were in Glitch intro, first merch ads, etc. I liked the emotional aspect of finale, but also was upset over so many plot holes and unfinished stories like "why scratch abstracted?" "what did Jax and Kinger meant by messing with our minds in the context of Scratch?" "why PC is still running even though the building is abandoned?" "AND WHY THE FUCK CAINE HAD WIFI ACCESS ON PC FROM 90s????" But after talking with few people they made me realize that it's not what Goose was going for She probably wanted to mainly focus on emotional aspect of the story - after all, Jax was suppose to be all she hated about herself, and Caine (probably) the way she changed. Lore is not important here Sure, we want to know more, but it's not the point of the show after all. Besides, we don't know if Glitch didn't say "you have 9 episodes, try to fit everything in that" because I bet it would be hard to fit everything, story, lore in just those 9 episodes without making it feel rushed or just feel like whole action is too fast. I also understand that Goose is just simply tired, she took a lot of responsibility on herself after all she was writer, director, voice acting director, previs editor, concept artist, compositing artist, music composer, (did) color grading, life action director and most likely did the storyboards So it's quite A LOT of work for one person (I mean she didn't do all that alone, but still) So I kind of understand if she just wanted to wrap it all up and just let go, especially since she burned out. "I kind of just wanted to make a cartoon, & it's ended up being more trouble than it's worth" It's sad to see I was fan since the pilot, not being very convinced at first but as the show went on I started to like it more and more I joined fandom itself quite late, because year ago after.. i think 5th episode - I never was a person who liked fandoms. I liked memes and everything but I wasn't active in fandom and like.. TRULY in - and TADC stole my heart away. Not only that, but episode 8 made me get out from art block thinking "Caine would want me to go on and keep creating". It's hard to let go, but it had to happen one day. I'm happy that I one day sat down and thought "okay let's watch this cartoon for children that everyone is yapping about". Fandom in general is so funny and creative - it have it's moods, like all fandoms, but overall I really love it. I also met the sweetest people who changed my life for better and it all wouldn't be able if not for this show. I think I went off track- sorry Overall, I'm fighting with myself between "I wish there was season 2 focusing on back stories of abstracted characters" and "The ending is good as it is" because it also leaves a lot of space for our head canons and imagination. That's also why I'm here. I love your alternative universe, I never was also fan of those but there is something in yours that I just adore. Maybe it's a thought of them doing small human things in between the horrors that are happening - like the Gangle and Caine little dance I drew once I think it's close to my heart because i love topics of WW1 and WW2 and little human stories where people were just.. people I don't know Anyways It's been quite an "amazing" adventure Sorry if all that is a mess english isn't my first language and me putting sentences together is .. mid I also hope that I said everything I wanted to say 💔

✨️🎪🔴 Caine 🔴🎪✨️

It left me with a few questions but the biggest one i have is: how are they living normally in the real world when they put on the headset and are in the digital circus? I just don't understand that, I'd love to know your thoughts

katzebruh

I love your comment and I'm not going to disagree with anything you said even if I have different opinions of it cause I have no interest in entering a debate But I will say that no matter what Goose was going for with Jax, to make Gangle his victim and then only center her around him will always rub me the wrong way But I do love you've found peace in it!

katzebruh

I'm pretty sure it's because they are just copies, they didn't get transfered into the circus they were copied into it

Karol Harba

oh yeah don't get me wrong I VERY DISLIKE Jax (I wouldn't call it hate) but he didn't deserve to abstract. Nobody did. He deserved to have a second chance and change. But well.. it happened.

the horse

Honestly I think everything was ok until the whole abstraction sequence at the end. Kinda feels like it just removes the allegory for how suicide is since the abstractions are just kept in the dark and are able to visit, be calm, etc. it would've worked better if we just didn't have the flashbang at the end of jax's sequence and he just kind of came back, since it'd be good to see it represent people on the edge (since jax was a recent abstraction it'd be a excuse for him to come back) and it'd still keep the entire abstraction thing as it is instead of it just being a minor hindrance.
