The length of a comic should be determined based on what/how you wanna tell a story, sometimes you can just tell a story in 20 pages other times you may need 100 pages or more

I feel a comic should be as long as the story takes to tell. If your idea only needs 5 pages to tell then keep it at 5. But if you wanna tell something longer and your story has enough to work with, go however long you need. It only becomes a problem when the pacing suffers. Dragging out one scene for 100 pages cause you haven't thought of the next part is just as bad as trying to jump through a story in pages that really needed the extra time to set

Ultimately the length "required" depends on how many pages you need to carry the "themes" of the story itself in a way that both feels like it respects the reader's time and also doesn't feel rushed

Take a look at SweetDreamCoffee's comics for example, sometimes they make comics that last around 10 pages while other times they last 60 or 100 pages

TLDR: Use your own judgement to decide how long you need to tell a story, there's no "ideal" number in my opinion

If a single comic's length is 740 pages, then it is no longer a comic at that point; it is just a graphic novel, unless it has multiple volumes, then it is an omnibus. I would say 5-10 pages for short stories and 20-30 for longer storylines and 50 pages maximum. If you need to make it longer, then find a breakpoint and split it up so you don't overwork yourself by taking a break from the comic, and 2. Don't make it so drawn out to the point of going overboard.

i seriously suggest that you don't worry about the length specifically when you're doing a comic. it should be however many pages it takes to tell each individual story. if you set a specific number goal, there's a decent chance you end up cutting part of the story or stretching the story out just to meet that number. it's not worth it in my opinion. as long as you've structured the story in your head from start to finish, the number of pages should be irrelevant.

The right length for a story is based on how much story you have or want to tell. Give yourself enough space to take care of everything you want to do, then maybe consider cutting or condensing 10-20% if you feel it needs to. At least, that's common wisdom (or my likely very poor paraphrasing of it)—if you vet things for cutting, then you'll be sure the stuff that you keep is the stuff you really need—though, there is some caution to take, as there are a great number of movies with deleted scenes that the majority of the audience wishes were kept. Be very careful about what you keep, but also about what you cut, as it's sometimes hard to know what's truly important.
