Looks like the prophecy is going to win this go around - the prophecy seems like it's about love, but I think it's deeper. In the Miss Americans documentary she talks about reaching these amazing heights in her career, and through the euphoria and happiness of it all - who does she have to share it with? Someone who truly understands. Whether that be friends or a significant other, she just wants someone to stand with her and stay - like she's willing to do and DOES with those who she loves. Folklore songs are not necessarily about her life, she creates stories for imaginary characters. ‼️ MUST READ - URGENT ‼️ intro + ready for it because I can’t believe you’re this far into your swiftie journey and you still haven’t seen it yet. That’s the one that usually reels people in. It HAS to be that exact video otherwise it won’t hit as hard. This was her comeback tour after Kim Kardashian and Kanye West tried to (and did) have her cancelled. She went into hiding. No one physically saw her for a year. People were saying the stadiums were going to be empty. The sound bites in the intro (which were played on the big screens at the show) are real, and she invited some of those reporters to the show. They were excited thinking they were going to get a story. Well.. you’ll see what happens. People also made fun of her for not being able to dance. I’m begging you to do this as a Double Feature with Don’t Blame Me live from the Rep tour (which I also can’t believe you haven’t seen yet, as it’s usually the 2nd one that people watch after intro + ready for it). I know you’ve done the studio version and The Eras Tour version, but this is from 2018, and NOTHING compares to her live vocals in that performance. It’s her best performance vocally. It’s out of this world. To make it a PERFECT triple feature, do the …Ready for It? music video first so you’ll be able to hear the studio version before seeing it live. She’s always been extremely creative visually and even before she started directing her own music videos (Lover era), she had a major hand in them. It’s also my birthday tomorrow, and it’s a true miracle that I’m still alive after what I’ve gone through this past year, and I wouldn’t be here if it weren’t for Taylor Swift and this community. 1) Down Bad is about Matty Healy, the main focus of TTPD (the smallest man who ever lived and guilty as sin, as you know him :)) 2) I'm gonna get you back is also about him, but nobody can tell if this was after they broke up last June or if this was her fantasizing about him before they got together. Either way, such an awesome song. 3) Ilicit Affairs is from Folklore, which was her Grammy winning pandemic album. On that album, she allegedly wrote all the songs about fictional characters but we now see how many were likely about Matty, as he inspired her to make the album in the first place due to a run in they had in January 2020 and him openly petitioning her on podcast interviews to make an acoustic album (he really signaled her for years when you think about it). The song itself is absolutely CRUSHING, beautiful, angry. 4) The Prophecy will make you all cry. It is at the end of TTPD and its Taylor (before she met Travis) looking back on all her failed and by that point 11 PUBLIC relationships with well known men (8 of them were British guys, she has a type!) and asking, am I just destined to be alone. 5) Ready for it is the opener on Reputation! Just an F'in JAM, and PUHLEASE watch the reputation tour opener when you do it. The Eras tour one is good too, but that was on another level. This concludes my work for the day :)

I hope you are doing the move version of ready for it. The only context would be that the opener of the rep tour set the tone for the whole show. “They” literally criticized her every move and lack of movement in this case, by saying she can’t dance. So as Taylor always goes, she doesn’t get sad, she gets even and she invited those critics/haters to the shows, came out to their hateful words, and showed them, as always, that they don’t know what the F they are talking about.

The man in Ready For it is Joe (he was a bit younger than Taylor and her other bf’s were always older) and it’s basically her coming out of a “girl next door” cocoon after disappearing for a year. It’s fraught with conflict and sass from the whole Kanye mess (there are definite innuendos toward him) and she’s reclaiming her power and her reputation, haters be damned. The video is good, the live version is good- it’s just a sassier Taylor!

It’s THE performance where she returns from being MIA for a year after the Kanye Kim incident. She went from bubbly and poppy to basically rapping. “Down bad” is about being love bombed so hard and then ghosted. She compares the love bombing in this particular instance to being so intense and crazy that It was “other worldly” and it was like being abducted and shown another world another planet and it was crazy and beautiful and then he just ghosts her. And she’s “back on earth” bored lonely sad and absolutely devastated. So much to the point where she feels like even if she talks about it people are going to think she’s “crazy” because it didn’t seem like much to other people but it was huge to her. It’s also rumored to be about Matty Healy love bombing her and then abruptly ending things/ghosting her (another tie in, in the song “the smallest man who ever lived” which is def about Matty she says “they just ghosted you. Now you know what it feels like” )…. There is a lyric in “down bad” that also ties into a song from her 1989 album titled “New Romantics” and she talks about going dancing and being left stranded and (sarcastically) calling it romantic. In “down bad” she says “how dare you think it’s romantic leaving me safe and stranded”.. and it is also rumored that a lot of songs from the 1989 album are not only about Harry Styles but a lot were secretly (or not so secretly) about Matty
