My thoughts, as a person who enjoys old folk music (Joni Mitchell, Bob Dylan, Emmy Lou Harris)(folk music can lean more country or more rock) and new indie-folk and traditional folk.....current indie/folk would be Noah K., Zach Bryan, Brandi Carlisle, Mumford and Sons sometimes. Red Clay Strays. Folklore isn't a FOLK album, but It has definite folk influences, prob why it's my fave. I love the genre.

While I may vibe with TSwift albums depending on my mood, somehow I always come back to Folklore being my most favorite. Before knowing where you stop, I already know which song is my song- forever will be Cardigan, with The Lakes as a close second. PLEASE be sure to listen to The Lakes, which is the bonus track! But so many GREAT songs on this album. It's pretty much a no-skip album for me.

So Taylor said that Folklore and Evermore are not autobiographical buuuttttt, we have come to learn after TTPD that they are in a way. If you know The 1975, there are ALOT of references in her songs that relate to their songs. Taylor & Matty have been writing songs about each other since they became friends over 10 years ago. I think that Covid was the start of the downfall in her relationship with Joe and she was desperately trying to hold onto it and/or she was thinking about another person ‘THE 1’ and in order to write about it she had to put her feelings in “FICTIONAL” stories that are not so fictional!

I can’t wait until you hear epiphany. I am a registered nurse and the COVID pandemic did true psychological damage to health care professionals. Many now have PTSD. In epiphany, Taylor makes comparisons between soldiers at war and health care workers during the pandemic. It is POWERFUL!

I grew up listening to Taylor's older albums (debut, fearless, some of speak now) and then I unfortunately lost all interest in her and scoffed at anyone who was a super fan of hers. I was young, insecure, egotistical, and ignorant and didn't listen to a single song of hers for a decade. Then when the eras tour started i began seeing clips from the shows and I saw a video of her performing "The Last Great American Dynasty" and I felt my soul just sink into my stomache and I was filled with so much shame and anger that I was so ignorant about her talent and that I never bothered paying any attention to her for a decade. That song changed me and It started a journey of the biggest and most intense emotional self reflective journey I've ever experienced in my 30 years on earth. She changed my life. And I still to this day want to cry thinking about the years I wasted and was deprived of her absolutely haunting poetic healing music all cuz I was a dumb teenager who thought she was lame and didn't bother giving her music a chance in any form.

Little house on the prairie is the 3rd in a a famous book series by Laura Ingles Wilder written in 1935. They made a tv Show based on the books That started in 1974 and ran for 9 seasons. :) Oh and MMMF Folklore is one of my favorite albums and I LOVE The Last American Dynasty, is an album favorite for sure.

"The Last Great American Dynasty" is not about women actually going mad, it's about how OTHER people called them "mad" because the woman didn't follow the old stuffy "old money" rules they wanted them to follow. And also because they didn't have children, to continue the family "dynasty" which is an important part of this song.
