Ahhh so excited for this one! If you ever get the time, I definitely recommend reacting to the live 1997 recording (same concert as “Silver Springs.”) The eye contact and shared history between Stevie and Lindsey is so bittersweet.

It is such a joy to watch you two. So many good covers of this song but for me, nothing beats the vulnerability and intimacy of Stevie singing. I think you should check out their Greatest Hits album and react to the ones you don’t know, or react to their 1975 self-titled album, which turns 50 this year! It was the first Fleetwood Mac album with Lindsay and Stevie. It had Landslide as well as Rhiannon and more gems.

Fun facts! They released Live CDs, and for this song, Stevie says at the beginning, "this is for you, Daddy." That is a reference to the drummer, Mick Fleetwood, who they referred to as "daddy" bc of his role/presence in the band. ALSO, Stevie and Mick had a brief relationship. ALSO, the song "Daddy" is a reference to Mick. i LOVE this song.

I first heard "Landslide" on tv show called "Glee". It was a cover by Gwyneth Paltrow Naya Rivera<3 and Heather Morris. I checked original band and that's it. Fleetwood Mac became my fav band and Stevie one of my fav musicians ever. I knew of Fleetwood Mac before but only their later work. Songs like Little Lies, Seven Wonders and Everywhere. Glee change that and that's why I'm forever grateful for that show.

There are so many covers of Landslide ... because the melody and lyrics are iconic and it is recognized by most musicians as a nearly perfect song. Bands that have covered it have done an amazing of adding harmonies and additional instrumentation...but because of my age I always hear Stevie's voice and always prefer her striped down version.

Stevie is still out touring. You should go! I saw her and Billy Joel (❤️) at Arrowhead two years ago with one of my adult kids. She’s still got it! She did Landslide as a tribute to Christine McVie and her version of Gold Dust Woman was amazing. You could also catch some of her solo stuff! What you have to understand is Stevie writes songs with multiple meanings. Usually one song could be about three or four different things at once. She’s not a linear writer (try watching the Say You Will documentary where her and Lindsey have an entire argument about it!)

When I was 9 my parents were mid divorce and this song came on in the car and my mom says she saw me in the rear view silently crying 😩 as an adult I just think about how she probably was relating to the song so much at the time and how she must’ve felt in that moment.
