Not gonna lie, when you said “I’ve never heard of Garth Brooks” my jaw fell & bounced off the ground. His greatest hits used to be 2 full CDs (25+ songs). He has *many* absolute classics like Friends in Low Places (prolly most famous), The Dance (oh god the tears but in a good way!), Thunder Rolls (live version is epic), If Tomorrow Never Comes, The Rodeo, & Callin’ Baton Rouge are all so famous, finding anything but covers is hard. Tim McGraw is definitely Country Royalty & married to Faith Hill (super famous Country artist from 90’s as well: This Kiss is her most famous?). They were *the* Power couple of Country touring together for a long time. They also both starred in the mini-series “1881” on CBS (prequel to Yellowstone).

Y’all are so real for making My Happy Ending into a ballad. Also for the “you know who would kill this” - Hayley hasn’t ever sung it (for our benefit at least), but she definitely does credit Avril for a lot of Paramore’s success. Paramore’s record contract was really messed up because the record label wanted Hayley to be the next Avril. My emo angsty little teenage heart was so into Avril but I grew up on the divas of the 90s, country and pop, women who could SANGGG sing. No slight to Avril but she just was never quite the singer I was craving - Kelly Clarkson got close but I wanted that punk flavor. So when I heard Paramore’s thrashing guitars behind Hayley Williams’s vocals (all that power and soul, uglied up a little with that pop punk stylization) and lyrics for the first time, it was like the answer to my wildest dreams 🩷 (I’m being the most insufferable commenter I’m so sorry 😭)
