Whew! Been dealing with some computer problems today (the dreaded Cintiq charging issue, which I thought I had lucked out of). So that means the colored page may be up a few hours late but... you guys get to read it :] Hopefully the colors will be up soon!

So it looks like you hand-draw your word bubbles. Is that true? Do you find that's easier than using, say, the circle tool in Photoshop?

SO MANY OPINIONS OH NO haha yeah I hate the circle tool!! it looks so shitty (in my opinion). I really like organic shapes, especially for my work, which is not super technical in its construction. When I'm working on projects that have a cleaner look I will use a vector bubble, but the cleanliness of it still bothers me a bit.

Yeah I don't really like the clean look of vectors either, but it had never occurred to me to draw the bubbles myself. Huh! I might just try that, then!

If it fits your style, I recommend it a lot! My general rule of thumb for bubbles is they should feel like they belong to the comic, be they clean/ textured/ outlined/ transparent/ whatever... just make sure it all looks cohesive~
