For Episode 21: First up, since its not very obvious: Serie is a Women ^^ Wald (in Waldgose) - Forest the full Names of the Magic Spells Denken created was "Tornado Conjuration Magic: Waldgose" followed by "Wind to Hellfire Magic: Daosdorg" The Light Magic was "Light of Judgement Magic: Catastravia" To steal a comment from Reddit, Denken started the fight with Frieren initially on fundamentals. Once that proved it wouldn't work, he switched to a tornado (because the flying spell doesn't work in strong wind). Then, he added in fire, for an omnidirectional attack - which we learned back in episode 3 will quickly drain mana to defend against. Frieren was able to tank through that, so he switched again to a continuous barrage of light arrows to leave no opening (he thought) to counter attack. All of which were ways the show has already shown us to be a way a mage can overcome someone with more mana than them. But Frieren learned from her defeats in the Past/increased her Mana over the last 1000 years continuously. Especially since we dont know how huge her Mana reserves really are. She released it in EP10, but only after she used her dispelling magic several Times and Aura mentioned it uses up a lot of Mana, so we still cant accurately pinpoint how big her Manapool really is.
