Everyone come see the greatest show!

On this edition of Watch This, we're going back to Summerslam 1998, for the featured bout. Not many people remember this big main event for some reason, it must have something to do with all the video games and candy.

But, we'll show you it right now! It's The Oddities taking on Kaientai in a 4-on-3 handicap match for all the marbles. Kurrgan, Giant Silva & Golga, with their best friends The Insane Clown Posse & Luna Vachon, step into the ring to take on long-time rivals Taka Michinoku, Dick Togo, Mens Teioh, and Sho Funaki!

This match was suggested by Artist formerly known as Gold Dustin!

Yaaaaas!! I have been wanting SS 98 for SGH/TLW but I will 100% take this!! Kings line about Baby stealing Gypsies and JR's reaction to it makes me laugh every time.

Shoutsiders

I will never get tired of Kai En Tai in this channel holy shit

James Alvarez

Guy like me puts the tag belts on Kai En Tai after this match

I SHAVED MY BALLS FOR THIS

Giant Silva in the Kramer from Seinfeld fit fr. Also they definitely cut away at the end because the ICP song started playing

BigJ

I love that the gorilla press throw to the floor will always manifest a "fuck you!"

BigJ

Keientai are such great bumpers, holy shit. I also love their combo moves.

Monk E. Dangerously

Meltzer gave this minus 2 stars in the Observer which is way too harsh lmao. It's not a technical masterpiece or anything but I got a kick out of it. If it makes me smile, it's a good match.

Mah-Dry-Bread

4 man clothesline into them all getting up and missing their elbow drops and splashes is amazing

Mah-Dry-Bread

Man, minus 2 stars is crazy. It was just a fun match

By the way, I'm gonna get serious for a moment (Lance Storm face). The podcast and this Patreon is what keeps me going every day. I'm struggling with really bad depression and I just want to thank you boys for making me smile every week. Laughter is the best medicine.

FalconX9K

I'm gonna tell my kids this was The House of Torture

Andrew Sci

Kaientai are fucking awesome and props to Tenta he had some hustle in this match for an 80s guy

Teemu Toikka

I've seen enough, give everyone involved in this match the fucking belt

Sampo Salo

Kaientai ruled so much

Josh Headey

Hey so I’ve been there, I’m going great now and on daily medication and weekly therapy and life is great. But the boys have always been there for me too. I’ll often watch old shows and clips and retro syncs and I’ll laugh and laugh and laugh. But also deadlock will always be here. And I hope you are too 🙏

ceeankay

Kaientai always rule. I was a huge Oddities mark as a kid, as well. For shoot, I wish modern wrestling would do more goofy shit like this.

VacuumWhistler

This shit fuckin' means somethin to me, MAN

sooper boof

Wrestling has cooked my mind. Giant Silva has the same pants as Freakshow and Insane Lane when they were Six Feet Under like 20 years ago. Cooked.

Treadcutter213

That ruled and was insane in the best ways. Rest in peace to John Tenta. One of the coolest big men around.

Happy Tiger Snugglefur

In terms of a Wrestling match, this was a lot better than I remember it being, I love how everyone played to their strengths and got the timing down on Everything. Sucks this is pretty much it for both Team after this, Had WWE Put more effort into tag teams and Stables back then, both groups could have done a lot more.

Rev

Love that they only trusted Earthquake to take bumps

It's so weird to think of John Tenta, an icon of the WWF in the early '90s and an oddity (heh) of mid-'90s WCW, as being part of the Attitude Era. He was as fun to watch as ever, though; fits right in. And Kaientai, goddamn were they underrated. And of all the people who WWE fucked over on entrance themes over the years, no one got it worse than Kaientai (just TAKA and Funaki by that point) losing "Yamato Suite".

Zero-89

The crime worthy of the Hague.
