We have made it to Episode 360 of the DEADLOCK Podcast, and we thought we'd combine our love for wrestling with our love for the Xbox 360 for this review. We decided to go back to the night before the release of the Xbox 360, and see what the WWE was doing with their flagship show, Monday Night RAW, at the time. The Xbox 360 released on November 22, 2005, and this episode of RAW is from November 21, 2005!We're on the road to Survivor Series 2005, and this is RAW's go-home show before the "big" PPV. RAW & Smackdown are fighting for brand supremacy, as they always loved to have, and even across the pond they'll still make sure to go out of their way to attack each-other before the Survivor Series event. This episode of RAW takes place in England, and all of the members from the Team RAW vs Team Smackdown match scheduled for Survivor Series are here to battle it out.Team RAW's Shawn Michaels, Kane, Big Show, Chris Masters & Carlito go to war with Team Smackdown's Batista, JBL, Rey Mysterio, Randy Orton & Bobby Lashley at the beginning of this show, in the parking lot no less! This leaves Batista laying on the windshield of a car, seemingly costing Team Smackdown their World Champion.Triple H & Ric Flair are set to do battle at Survivor Series in a Last Man Standing match, and Triple H swears that he will end Flair's career this Sunday. To prove what he's capable of, he shows what he can do against one of his greatest foes; Val Venis. The crowd here in England are so excited!Kurt Angle is preparing for his WWE Championship match against John Cena at the PPV, but luckily for him, Eric Bischoff has granted him his very own referee for every match he has now; Daivari! Daivari is even his referee here tonight in Kurt's rematch against former team mate, Shelton Benjamin. Cena, of course, does his best to embarrass Kurt Angle by attempting to interview the roster, The Boogeyman, & fans to see if they think Kurt Angle sucks, in a segment that goes on for 15 years. Also on this show, Mickie James takes on Candice Michelle, which leads to Trish Stratus being KIDNAPPED, and Tajiri takes on Rob Conway...kinda. In our main event, Team RAW's Shawn Michaels takes on Team SmackDown's JBL in a Lumberjack match, with all of the participants from the Survivor Series match playing the role of Lumberjacks. All of that, and so much more, on this edition of the DEADLOCK Podcast!

2026-09-05 14:00 you could be playing NFS Most Wanted. Call of Duty 2, PGR3. Amped 3, Ridge Racer 6... or you could be watching 2005 Val Venis. live or die, make your choice.

Gentleman This is skee-mocracy woah-nifest

Power to the Smarks

Loved me some XBox 360 back in the day. Halo 3 got me into the multiplayer side of the franchise. (Also, glad to hear this was what made the Raw so significant...I assumed it was Triple H kicking the crap outta Val Venis lol)

CJExtreme98

5 days until views can watch an episode of deadlock every day of the year excluding leap years

Day'mon Harris

Im going to be THAT guy..i liked the OG Xbox better AND the Xbox had better hardware and didnt drop like a shit brick after the fan went off unlike the 360.

Tyler Race

Reminiscing about the Xbox 360 made me so happy. Man, I love that console.

Adam Webster

You boys talking about Delta Force Black Hawk Down unlocked so much nostalgia for me, must of put hundreds of hours on the pc version when I was a kid

jibwa

that's the era they grew up watching

Wreck Tootle

lol shoutout LT, nL original

JackRyanForPope

Is everything OK with regards to Watch This? Just haven't been able to find any good matches?

Alex Wallace

I always interpreted the 360 water balloon commercial as them saying "Get your friends and their friends and we'll have a big party together" as a way to push the multiplayer aspect

FalconX9K

"Kane never switches from this fucking attire, dude." James just mentally blocking out everything from 2012 onward is wild but understandable

ThiccFlair

Having just gotten into Jackass in the last 2-3 months (I'm 26 and somehow it just completely avoided me growing up) I really appreciate jawnny's bam impression lmao

polo bear

Lowkey, the "BATTLE FOR BRAND SUPREMACY" uniting guys like JBL and Orton with Rey and Batista for a common goal actually rules... although I don't know if they all kinda dropped the beefs they had because Eddie had passed the week before this or not. Also, I think you need to watch the Bischoff/Long match because of who else gets involved in it. Two very special guys

Cole

Cowboy bob and juvy on the loop doing pcp and giving people hepatitis crazy style.

Cat wearing crocs

me going back in time to give them free towels when their 360 red rings

HOLY FUCKING SHIT

Y'all talking about the 15 second search and destroy shit talk window just blasted me back to those days, good ass times. also, Brenda Song patted the elbow on suite life of zack and cody before hitting a shane mcmahon like elbow , burned into my brain forever for some reason, that shit is just funny

Belf

Hearing the name “Cory Ledesma” awoke the sleeping giant inside me I think I just popped a blood vessel remembering all the pent up rage 12 years old me was spitting about that dude on the Caws.ws forums

Viewtiful~

dude... the call of duty games (MW2 and beyond) forcing you into game chat literally had me only playing ground war and team tactical because it allowed the party chat, then with Search and Destroy it was so much funnier because it was proximity chat and when you died, you couldn't talk to your teammates until they died, so you couldnt reveal locations of others for your team lol Good times, ALSO THE XBOX ARCADE I forgot the name of the game, but it was kinda like you spawned in, you could have weapons from swords to guns and you could set up teams or free for all.. i gotta boot up my xbox to find the name

Real North Carolina judge Dick Boner

360 was so fucking sick. I was a Wii kid for a while, but I got my 360 second hand after saving my allowance money for like three months. Shout out Video Games ETC, always holding it down. First games were Arkham Asylum, Fallout 3, and 2k14. Never paid for Xbox Live though, paid online is horseshit lol.

Alex Warner

Anybody notice their voices are higher pitched?

DEADLOCK

Are you listening on Spotify? Restart your app.

Alex Warner

Yeah it was on Spotify. At first I thought it was my car, but I played it on my phone speaker too, and it was the same thing

Longways

Hahaha ball knower

My 360 did the RROD not once, not twice, but THRICE. The first one is the one I remember super clearly because it happened in early 2007, like a week after the 90 day warranty expired. Luckily, that dovetailed with MS announcing that they were extending the limited warranty to 1 full year. Thinking about it years later, that should've killed XBox dead in the water right then, but it's a testament to how good the system's game lineup and overall user experience was that seemingly millions of gamers took it in stride. 1 vs. 100 on XBox Live was such a cool experience. It must have been a pain in the ass to produce, though, because I can't think of anybody trying anything like that again. I placed #1 in the audience one night and it remains one of my proudest gaming moments (My prize was an XBLA game of my choice from a pretty limited pool; I think "World of Keflings" was the only one I didn't already own.)
