That's a SPOON!

This match is a long time coming, and is the perfect way to round out the Watch This episodes for October. We're taking it back to 1996 for this one, in one of the craziest concepts of a match of all time. We can't say it's the craziest match of all time, because we are still not sure what is going on even after having watched it. But, the Doomsday Cage is here. It's Hulk Hogan & Randy Savage taking on literally everybody.

Pillman was red hot at the time so the original ending was of course Hogan pinning Pillman in the centre of the ring. Fortunately Pillman had talked Bischoff into shoot firing him so Hogan couldn't pull the creative control card. I think Pillman also scheduled throat surgery for the day of the PPV just to make sure.

Luger doing the accidental punch spot on Flair, only to STOP before Savage ducked, THEN resumed the punch is absurdly horrendous

So that moment with Luger was actually him turning on Flair. (While still being a bad guy unless he's teaming with his best friend Sting. Luger in WCW is the most complicated motherfucker, I swear) They bring it up on Nitro the next night. It's such a subtle thing that it looks like a botch :D

This match has been a Guilty pleasure of mine for years, the absured Cage structure, the colorful lighting, the Campy monster gimmicks are pure WCW to me. The botched ending with Luger punching Flair, was actually on Purpose, they had been hinting at a turn for Luger for the previous weeks and commentary speculate over it at the tail end of the show plus the following Nitro. Final Stats: 10 Wrestlers, fighting for over 25 minutes and only 15 total moves were used, (This is counting Punches, kicks, stomps, etc)
