Recently, we've been discussing internally about trying to find something new for the podcast, that could replace, or go along with, the other $5 tier segments that we try to include you all in. We feel like the Q&A has started to run its course in terms of trying to find things to answer that we haven't talked about (it has been going on for quite some time, so we know it isn't easy to try to come up with new things to ask anyway), so we're looking to either replace it or have something else added to the lineup. The theme segment has been quite fun for us and hopefully for you all, and we tend to get some pretty good responses for ideas for that.

So, with that being said, we wanted to come here and see if any of you had anything that you may have had in mind for us to start doing on the show! Obviously, we'd like it to be something that involves input/suggestions/replies from you all, so please comment below with any ideas you have!

Match or event of the day? Do like a random match from the day of the podcast so for example say it's 31/1 could be about edges return at the rumble

Sami

Recommendation of a show of the week from federations not very known that could make people discover them. Otherwise just a recommendation of a match from anytime that is worth watching

CIMA COMING FOR YOU LONG DICK DRAGON GATE STYLE BOOMSHAKALAKA

Maybe like once every two weeks you guys could do a power/tier lists of the wrestlers you found the most entertaining for that time? Doesn’t have to be anyone current or even related to wrestling let’s be honest, just whatever did it for you that week. Even if it’s just some old stuff you rewatched. Could be a fun thing you go back to look at in the end of the year and see where y’alls heads were at during each month. Also a good way to get people to check out other stuff you might want more eyes on. Plus I imagine comparing how different everyone’s list is would be great. Only other idea I got is just steal what Adult Swim used to do with Carl from Aqua Teen Hunger Force on YouTube and have “Deadlock’s Lock of the Century (of the week)” where you predict crazy ass shit to happened in that week of wrestling and see if it comes true. I’ll be honest here, I’m mostly pitching the name.

SleepySheepy

How about we vote on a storyline/angle or create a fantasy one and you guys tell us how you would fantasy book it if you had complete creative control

Evilzombieeater

Maybe a career/storyline retrospective seg

BeZdomny

What about reviewing an episode of a TV show, that focuses on Pro Wrestling cause I know there are a lot of those lurking around.

jadie xo

maybe like wrestling debates eg, TNA 04/06 vs WCW 95-98 or the legitimacy of bengazi

RavenWood

Perhaps like the "Untitled Theme Music" segment. Maybe a career retrospective on a wrestler, either voted on or just a general consensus by Deadlock crew

Lio

This might really derail the show but, every week we vote on a promo and who should try to recite it and the other two try to heckle them so they can't finish the promo. Maybe there is a reward for the person that can withstand the heat the most? Yall could also review the promo afterwards

Cade Archer

My favorite moments from the podcast are when you guys talk about what you want to do in DPW, so having a segment where you talk about a detail, small or large, of wrestling that you like (a type of weapon, a style of selling, entrance music style, etc) would be fun.

Ian Brandon Anderson

Beavis and Butthead seg, PLEASE! It could be just like the retro segs, everyone watches the same 11 minute episode and comes to the podcast with their takeaways.

FLEX36IMAPRETTYBITCH

Have Tubby come in and cut Joel Gerner promos lol. On a more serious note tho maybe we vote on a wrestler and go over their top 3 promos? Idk sounds cool

Ya boi

were you book a old ppv how would you book it .i remember mance warner did that and thought it was awsome

Weewooweewoo

Discuss your articles or extra content that go up on your website or socials

Omney

dream booking wars, you each come up with a dream match or segment or interaction between wrestlers, and then debate on why yours is the best and shit on the other two ideas. i just love when you guys come up with crazy ass scenarios.

Tucker Wetherbee

Maybe you guys can rank your favorite wrestling belts just like the theme music segment.

Scorpion Death Cock

I think it would be pretty cool to have a video game where every episode you do like mini-reviews of specific wrestling video games or talk about their development. Another idea is that y'all do brief history rundowns of wrestlers, wrestling promotions or any things that you're interested in. Like James does a history of a Joshi promotion, Johnny does a history of CZW, Tony does a history of Wikifeet, etc.

McB

a segment, where maybe we suggest the wrestler, and you give us their best and worst tshirts/merch.

mindfulEater

We name a celebrity guest that appeared on a wrestling show and y’all have to watch all the segments that guest was in and then talk about what they were there to promote. Could be a fun way to talk about things other than wrasslin while still talking about wrasslin.

Michael Pincente

Deadlock exposes would be great. One of you picks a particular topic like “the story of TOD 2” or “The Yoshiko incident” or any other interesting story and educates the other two and the listeners on it. Good opportunity to learn about some silly and interesting wresting stuff while also giving new angles for laughs.

Devren Smith

Do a segment where you reviewing retro wrestling games from different countries

Daniel Cassell

A "fantasy booking" segment would be cool. Go back in history and book a story line the way you would have liked it to go down.

AgainWithRyan

Belt of the week segment Where you could talk about the design of the belt, how long the design stayed around & give facts about it. The best or favorite matches associated with that belt.

David Jackson

Fantasy matches and gimmicks between the three of y’all and we get to vote on the topic. For example...we vote steel cage match....James, Johnny and Old man pick who they want and then they have to unanimously agree. OR better yet...we vote on “wrestler who you’d like to see giving a promo to a football team down at halftime” pick your 3 and then discuss and agree on one

Fat Ryback

Scott Steiner retrospective

CMRazor3

Do a "This day in wrestling history" segment and go over a specific match/event that occurred on the date the episode comes out

SavageOra

I missed when you guys covered wrestling news and the memes that came out of them. Like I remember the ep with Robe Van Dam and Stolen Valor is one of my favorite episodes. Idk why you guys stopped but consider it. I don't want straight up reporting but kinda like a talk show thing; you bring it up an riff on it.

C-Dubble

A fantasy booking seg could be fun, since you guys come up with some really good booking ideas sometimes that make me think "oh shit why didnt they do that?". We would make suggestions the same way we do with the theme song seg and then get your guys' pitches on how certain things in wrestling history should've been booked/how things should be booked in the future. e.g "How WWE should've booked The Fiend", "Who should've won (x) Royal Rumble" or "Who should win next years Royal Rumble" For stuff in the past that you might not remmeber fully you can go through and refresh your memory of big matches/storylines through cagematch and then just ret-con at your leisure.

RJB

Maybe some sort of “Bracket” segment where in one Patreon post we put our ideas for the Bracket (i.e. Best Promo of all time) and the comment with the highest likes is the bracket. Then in a 2nd Patreon post we comment our nominations for the bracket and the top 16 liked comments get in as seeds 1-16 (8 on each side of bracket) and then on the show you guys cast your votes (whether it be 2-1 or 3-0) to eventually come up with a Official Deadlock Patreon Bracket winner for whatever it was that we chose.

Jordan gold

Okay the only other podcast I listen to religiously is pardon my take so during the football offseason to fill time they have a “Mount Rushmore” segment where they pick a topic of all kinds from favorite players to favorite cereals to worst moments stuff like that. They do 4 rounds snake draft style. It’s fun because since it’s like a draft you get people stealing picks when someone else was about to take it. It leads to funny banter and could see y’all doing something similar. To involve us you could let us select the topic each week somehow. Could lead to some funny banter when y’all still picks and also reminiscing on moments and stuff as you explain why you made that pick.

Raccaroon

I know you already have the Untitled Theme Song segment, but would you consider album reviews? i.e. going through WWE's discography of released theme song compilations (Forceable Entry, Wreckless Intent) or even albums of original tracks (the Wrestling Albums from the 80s, John Cena's album, WWE Originals, Elias' EPs, etc.)

Austin Hicks

Something to do with championships, like ranking the look of different titles, titles you would like to see come back or cool ideas for a new title

KODIAK

Top 5/bottom 5 workers for the week in any company (or just one of each)

POD7

Maybe coverage of small time indies? I don't mean ROH, I'm talking like NWA Oklahoma small. Like, pull up their twitter and look for their upcoming card and make predictions based purely off of their names/pics

Michael Pincente

Oh maybe deadlock debates, one moderates the other two go at it and the winner is debate champ for that week and moderates next weeks debates. We can pick the topic or the moderate could.

Wyatt P.

Call-in segment??

Eric

What about a segment where you tell crazy wrestling stories that you heard

Cyco Vision

Fucking idiot of the week, you talk about a dumb fucking idiot that did something this week that is worth laughing at.

honda

you could maybe modify the q&a segment into a howard stern style interview, and have a guest (nobody crazy, like denkops is an example) and have someone else answer our crappy questions
