"Lord of the Ring," the Feb 18th, 2010 episode of TNA Impact Wrestling. Hulk Hogan presents Abyss with his WWE Hall of Fame ring, declaring that it will make Abyss stronger than Hulkamania and a god among men. This moment not only solidified Abyss as a top contender in the company, but also marked the beginning of a powerful alliance between Hogan and Abyss. This partnership saw the two wrestlers work together to dominate the TNA roster, with Abyss becoming a key player in Hogan's faction, Immortal. AJ Styles, under the mentorship of Ric Flair, beats up the new number one contender and 8 Card Stud winner, The Pope D'Angelo Dinero, and leaves him laying in the ring. This idea of AJ Styles being the next Ric Flair was not well received by the fans as AJ Styles was already a top guy in the company and the face of TNA Wrestling. Also in one of the most infamous moments in TNA Wrestling history, Samoa Joe was kidnapped by NINJAS. After the kidnapping, Samoa Joe was taken off TNA Impact TV, and when he was brought back, the storyline was never mentioned again. This was a major disappointment for fans as it was a bizarre and uninteresting storyline that came out of nowhere and had no real purpose or resolution. Also, The boys talk about DPW Live #1 that saw the main event of SB KENTo vs Lucky Ali for the DPW Worlds Championship. Plus, a review of Friday the 13th Part VI: Jason Lives.

Of course my name change didn’t register before they shouted out my government name on the Patreon shoutout.

Doing CZW spots on Tony's deck

So, tremendous pod. Always hilarious. And I don't wanna be that guy. But the ninjas kidnapping Joe had nothing to do with Nation of Violence. Dick-on-face Joe had already come and gone, it had been like a year, it's why his theme song says "Nation of Violence." But it's actually even dumber. The ninjas kidnapped him and there were supposed to be vignettes of Snuka and other islanders making Joe more savage, but they just never filmed any of it and randomly brought Joe back

watching this era of tna as a 10 yr old sucked dawg my god. i was clinging to nxt simply bc i liked danielson and something he was a part of HAD to be better than hogan tna. tna is what got me into indies and japanese/mexican wrestling and seeing what it became under hogan broke my shit

DEADLOCK

I can't believe I didn't catch that when going through the wiki. That IS worse!

DEADLOCK

It has to be the name you sign up with originally, as that's the one that gets sent to us.

JohnnyBoyETC

I changed the membership tier so I don’t know if that will update it, if not no worries.

I didn't and still don't really follow TNA, but I was just actively angry listening to this. Not toward the boys, of course, but just this idea that complete absolute failures like Hogan and Bischoff and everyone else continued to get jobs despite massive failure after massive failure. This was just complete and total disregard for a company's culture and fanbase. Just absolute contempt for a hungry fanbase that had found people they liked, they rooted for, they wanted to see WRESTLING. Nope, here's the fucking Nasty Boys instead. And Sean Morley. And Kevin Nash revisiting a WORKY SHOOT storyline from over ten years ago. I honestly dislike how modern wrestling (even AEW) tries to reach to the past in order to try and get some lapsed viewers from the Attitude Era. They are never coming back. Just create new fans. With all of that said, great podcast boys!

paynexkiller

When was this recorded? Jay died on Tuesday but you didn’t mention him. Super weird as I assume Jawny would have met him when he worked CZW shows or something?

DEADLOCK

i have never met him. we tweeted our feelings about jay briscoe during the week. trying to guilt anyone into talking about something is weird to me.

Trafficcoen

DC's New Justice League: Superman, Popeye, Hulk Hogan and his life partner Abyss.

Richard Ives

Will you guys appear on Quizzilmania?

Bronson-Lee, Philly's #1 Golfer

I listen to the entire Patreon shoutout section and let me tell you It's because I'm too lazy to skip it and I regret it every time y'all are maniacs lmao

Richard Ives

Will you be watching the Seven TNA episode anytime soon?

BigJ

I just want to throw in a suggestion for a retro review: Smackdown 05/25/00. I really don't want to spoil it because there's lots of stuff for the boys to chew on in this one. I will spoil that you get to hear the Run DMC DX theme.

CJExtreme98

I’ve watched this like four times cause I haven’t finished it. Name seg was fucking crazy. I didn’t get every reference or joke but y’all got so contagious laughs

Ed

The Assassination of the Monster Abyss by the Liar Hulk Hogan
