The Hogan/HBK story is it was supposed to be a 3 match series (I think HBK was supposed to win the first one) and it would’ve ended in like a Cage match or something, but Hogan changed it to only be 1 match that he won.

I can explain at least a bit of the Bret stuff. In the leadup to Summerslam, Raw was in Montreal. A freshly turned heel Shawn Michaels - straight out of a time machine from 1997 in a suit with a pink tie - came out to a crowd that wanted his blood, so obviously they did a fake Bret return. I can only assume people thought it was leading to something after. But, y'know. WWE gonna WWE. That Montreal promo is actually one of my favorite Shawn promos. If i remember right, the original plan was to do a face vs face match and Hogan nixed it. Shawn came back with the idea to do a best of three and hogan said he would only do one.

To answer the bois' question about the lower PAL frame rate (50 fps, not 59) compared to NTSC, it's caused by Europe/Australia using different electrical standards than NA/Japan etc., with screen refresh rates having to match that 50 Hz standard (60 in NTSC regions) back in the old days of TV tech. The whole thing has largely been a non-issue for almost 20 years now, as everything (except broadcast TV and standard def DVDs) can use 60 Hz or higher now.

To expand on the Hogan/Shawn program, originally it was 3 matches. Hogan wins at Summerslam, HBK wins at Survivor Series or Rumble, and Hogan wins the rubber match at Mania. Which makes what happens even crazier because in the end Hogan still would've gone over twice and won the fued. But instead like, a week before Summerslam Hogan says sike I'm only doing the summerslam match.
