That scene where Xi Guang is standing on business and Yu Sen falls in love at first sight is honestly perfect, and really symbolic of their relationship in the present day too. She’s a no bs girl boss and he’s basically just there looking at her admiringly the whole time lol.

I also don’t really understand the argument that cdramas “take too long” for the leads to get together. Personally, I enjoy the development and the tension leading up to it a lot more. I also like that in most cdramas the main conflict is usually resolved before the couple officially gets together, so there isn’t some forced third act breakup. And like you said, it just hits harder. By that point you actually know the characters and empathize with them and the journey they took to get there. I don’t mind fast-paced romances, but for me the slow burn will always hit better lol.

I am right there with you! Give me the slow burn where they organically fall in love rather than the fast paced version of that. It might not be everyone's cup of tea but it definitely is mine! 🤣
