Jin Bahui’s parents are just outrageous. And I’m with you too—anger issues, power struggles, narcissistic personality disorder… I had a whole array of suspicions about his dad when I saw the book-tearing scene. That wasn’t even Jin’s book! It’s sad, because it reminds me that for some people, breaking away from authoritarian parenting is one of those lifelong struggles they have to go through in order to truly grow up and become their own person. I also loved the little “love triangle” scene in this episode. It didn’t seem like much, but it felt so true to the coming-of-age storyline and so consistent with these characters. The reminiscing, the awkward little dynamics—it all felt so natural, and definitely gave me a few chuckles too.
