The scenes with the suicide were tough. But I agree, in many schools all around the world there are bullies. Some maybe not as bad as these ones were, but many are like this or even worse. I know the USA quite often appears in the news about students shooting with guns at school and stuff like that. But bullying and violence is happening in pretty much every country, and here in Europe too. It's terrible when teachers can't defend their students, nor punish the bullies. And it's not like all the teachers want to turn their backs or close their eyes because the parents of those students are powerful. I think a lot of it also has to do with everything that has come with "children's rights". One wrong look at a child/teen (minor) and an adult can be sued. And I think that (plus the tiny salary) in my country is one of the reasons why we have a deficit of teachers. They want to teach, but students don't allow that and I know some cases where they even bully teachers. My daughter was in such a class. Terrible experience for her and those who weren't part of the bullying. I have watched only this and the next episode right after they aired, but didn't have time to finish it. So, starting from ep 3 everything will be new to me too. 🙂

I agree with everything you said regarding teachers, students, and education! Whenever I am not doing my real job or this I actually work as a substitute teacher, so I have experienced this to an extent! I always wanted to be a historian or a history professor, but I ended up not being that due to pay and other factors. It is sad because like you said people want to teach and help the youth, but just how poorly teachers are treated in terms of pay, status, etc. for all the work and attitudes they have to put themselves through is insane. Teaching is unfortunately a thankless job, which is a shame because it should be a profession that is highly thought of and valued.

Completely agree. Teachers should be valued way more than they are now. Historically that was a prestigious job and everyone respected them. Sometimes they even had some sway over local matters, but it has changed a lot nowadays.
