I was surprised by how quickly Rao’s grandma gave up too! I thought she’d put up more of a fight. But then I thought about the accusations Wei Rao threw at her grandmother afterward. Knowing her, I’m sure they weren’t entirely true… but perhaps there’s a grain of truth that explains a little of her craziness? The way she immediately switches into attack mode does show how insecure she is. Not to excuse her behavior—just wondering whether some of it comes from never feeling unconditionally loved. Hmm… no answers yet, just thinking… And I loved A Chou’s slap in this episode! Such a funny moment, and the perfect response to Qi Zhongkai. I wish I could think on my feet like that, haha. My understanding of Lu Zhuo’s plan was that he was using Wei Rao as bait, taking her to the festival to lure out an enemy from the battlefield. But yeah, that plot feels so far in the background when we’re completely absorbed in the Wei Rao and Jun Dai storyline… And again, thank you for posting your reactions! Really enjoying watching this show with you.
