Hey folks!

Things are finally settling down a bit over here, so my writing's on the uptick. Hoping that that trend continues, even if the world is looking rather crazy at the moment...

Oh well. Got a bit of a short tale for you today, since that was the request. I hope you enjoy the read!

Stay safe out there everyone.

Rayne Solaire looked up at the guild hall in front of her with awe. It was a spectacular place, a magical building with wings that stretched into impossible dimensions, floating forests and glass structures standing atop cloud foundations, all built around the central hub, a round white-stone tower decorated with art and riches. The entire place screamed that it was the home of one of the most powerful guilds on the continent.

She couldn’t believe she’d gotten in! A rookie healer fresh out of a no-name academy like her should have been stuck bouncing around between low level adventuring parties, trying to stop them from getting themselves killed headbutting troll clubs. Getting into a decent guild should have been a fanciful goal maybe three or four years out, if she got really, really lucky. A big name place was a total pipe dream. And yet, somehow…

Bountiful Horde was a high tier guild, supposedly named after their ability to bring back great crates of loot from every dungeon they ventured into – and they ventured into a lot. Everyone knew them, and everyone knew that if they took a job, they got it done. They were as top tier as tiers could go!

And apparently, they needed a few extra healers? Well Rayne wasn’t complaining. The green haired woman had already tried the standard tavern crawl looking for recruiting parties, and her prospects were looking grim. She’d always had a rather boyish figure – something she had tried and failed to not develop a complex about – and a lot of her local competitors apparently knew how to use their looks to get ahead on the job market. That had been a frustrating thing to learn.

So getting word back from BH had been an incredible moment. In an instant, she’d gone from dismal prospects to a truly sparkling future, where the sky was the limit. It was the greatest thing that had ever happened to her!

… There was something odd she noticed, though. Not to look a gift horse in the mouth or anything, but… y’know. Just something weird.

Not that the guild was all female – she knew that going in. She’d done her preliminary research! There weren’t many all-female guilds in Eclastia, so it had stood out for that. It was the track record that had convinced her to apply, though. According to the guild’s statistics, they were taking on S rank dungeons with a 90% or above success rate regularly. That was an insane rating! If she could learn from people who did that sort of stunt every week, then she was gunna go far with her Adventuring career.

No, the odd thing that she’d noticed was that all of the Adventurers who worked for BH were flat out babes. Like, crazy figures, ‘tiddies out the wazoo’, ‘those cloaks aren’t hiding anything’, and ‘yeah I bet you call that a breast plate’ kind of stuff. Where the hell did you even find this many beauties? Rayne had never considered herself as anything other than straight, but looking around the guild hall at BH was making her start to have… thoughts. Ahem.

Noticing that little guild quirk had almost made her think twice about applying. She definitely didn’t have that kind of junk in her trunk. It was a bit of a sore point for her, actually. Rayne was cute, she knew – everyone’s favourite green haired little sister, har har - but if people were being selected for curves, then, uh, she’d probably come in dead last. Behind some of the men.

She’d stuck through out of sheer stubbornness, though, and gotten an interview. To her surprise, the women who’d asked her questions hadn’t seemed to care about her lack of figure at all. It hadn’t even gotten a second glance, and all of the things she’d been asked had been pretty standard healer recruitment stuff – where she’d been trained, her experience in the field, her divine domains, how much her god liked her, that kind of stuff. They hadn’t said anything about boobs at all.

Even though they’d busty as hell too. Huh.

Well anyway! Now Rayne was a member of Bountiful Horde. Probably the least stacked member, but so what? She was still a member! And she was getting a tour of the grounds by her newly assigned mentor, Lady Sabrina Halver – a blonde knight who looked just like one of the Valkyries of legend, her silver armour gleaming in the sun.

She was also one of the reasons Rayne was questioning her sexuality, because goddamn. That armour hid just enough to be classy, while leaving enough revealed to give the woman a golden ticket into the healer’s dreams tonight.

“Over there is the dorm rooms,” the knight was saying, pointing to the left as the pair walked through the guild hall. “You should have already been assigned a room, and you can move your stuff in as soon as you like. Weapon’s training is through there, though as a healer I suspect you’ll get more use out of the library – that’s down that hall – and the seminary – that’s on the other side of the gardens…”

This place really did have it all, didn’t it? Wow.

There was something else she was seeing, though – now that she was looking around at all these members of the guild. Something that was, in fact, so common that she was worried she was missing something.

“So… What’s with the uniforms?”

Yeah, if you looked closely, you could see that every woman here was wearing hints of the same kind of outfit. A golden outfit. Gold gloves, gold stockings, even hints of golden leotards underneath their other clothes. Lady Halver was clearly wearing all three if she squinted.

Rayne had asked about that back during her interview, and the woman questioning her had laughed the question off, saying it was a guild secret. But now she was a member of the guild, it felt like she should probably get to know!

“Oh right!” Her guide snapped her fingers. “That! Thanks for the reminder, that’s important. Yes, let me take you to the Guild Mistress, she’ll explain it all.”

Woah, straight to the Guild Mistress? Surely she was busy with important stuff negotiating contracts or running this incredible organization. There was no way she had time to pay attention to a newbie rookie healer, right?

And yet the knight in literally shining armour led her straight to the woman’s office, guiding her to an elevator in the middle of the guild hall and riding it all the way up to the top (the view started to get dizzying about a quarter of the way, wow this place was tall). Soon, she was knocking on the door of the highest office in the entire building!

“Enter.”

The door swung open, revealing a respectable office, filled with display cabinets and filers. Rayne stepped inside, feeling more than a little uncertain. Was this some kind of extra initiation thing? She heard the door shut behind her, Lady Halver setting herself in front of it like a bouncer. Hm.

In the middle of the room was a desk, and behind it sat a beautiful woman with long, dark hair, dressed in elegant red robes. They looked up as she entered, smiling.

“Ah, a new member! Welcome, welcome.” The Guild Mistress waved at her to come closer. “It’s always nice to see new members of the Horde – and I can already tell you have a lot of potential…”

The green haired woman blushed as she approached. Potential? Her? “Oh, um, hi! I’m Rayne, uh, a rookie healer? I just joined, and, um…”

She trailed off.

Now that she’d stepped closer, she could see a few things that had been invisible from the door. Things like the portraits on the walls, which all seemed to display various monsters, like black dragons or liches. Things like the dark magic tomes in the book case, all practically rattling with curses. But also most especially the old oak chest that the Guild Mistress was standing in. It was an old, big thing, the kind you found in some of the oldest dungeons. Stylishly classic, in a way! But much more importantly, there was only one kind of creature that lived in chests like that.

The healer grabbed her staff. “Mimic!”

To her surprise, though, the ‘woman’ didn’t rear back or hiss or anything monstrous of the sort. She just smiled, leaning her arms on her desk. “How very observant! Yes, you’ll be a fine addition to my horde.”

“Addition to your what?” Rayne blanched. “Hey, uh, lady, I’m not treasure or anything. You can’t just keep me in a pile of gold or whatever…” Though the idea was kind of tempting, now that she said it out loud.

But the Mimic just laughed. “Silly girl, I don’t need a pile of gold anymore. The guild is my horde.”

The healer paused. “Wait, what?”

“Oh yes.” The Guild Mistress nodded. “It turns out- Well, you know how we mimics use our power over chests to disguise ourselves and entrap the unwary to protect our treasures?”

Uh. “Y… Yeah?” That sounded about right.

“By happy accident, I’ve found that that power also applies to other kinds of chest.”

Rayne blinked. Other kinds of chest? What did that…?

Her eyes followed the Guild Mistress’s knowing grin back towards Lady Halver. Or, more specifically, towards her bust.

… Oh.

Oh.

“There’s no way that’s-” The healer turned back to the Mimic with angry incredulity. “Seriously?!”

The mimic woman shrugged. “I wasn’t consulted on your strange language quirks. It just works. Once a woman qualifies as one of my chests, I have complete control over her. I can alter her class, her stats, and her thoughts at will. It’s really quite convenient.”

It did sound pretty- Don’t be impressed by the evil monster, Rayne. “And you use that power to run an Adventurer’s guild? Why?”

“Oh, that’s easy.” The Mimic seemed very happy to explain. “I send adventurers out, they collect loot, loot is added to my horde, my horde gets bigger. It’s just plain old math, you know?”

Huh. Gods, when she put it like that it really did sound simple. “But- But, you need to equip your adventurers, don’t you?” Everyone in this guild seemed to have top of the line gear, that stuff was not cheap. “Doesn’t that take away from your horde?”

“No.” The Guild Mistress shook her head. “I mean, all of my adventurers are chests of mine. Anything I equip them with is still in my horde. I don’t lose a thing! It’s almost all profit – and it’s won me the Collector of the Year award from the Black Dragon Guild of Villainous Hoard Collectors three years running – soon to be four if this recruitment wave keeps up!”

“Wow. Practical and convenient…” Rayne couldn’t help but nod. This was actually a really well put together scheme. Like, yeah, the returns must have been incredible. This creature might actually be well on her way to conquering the world here!

… She should probably be running, shouldn’t she? Like, no question, she was in a lot of trouble here. That said, though, there was a certain thought she couldn’t quite get out of her head.

“Well too bad,” she sniffed haughtily, folding her arms and pushing up her almost non-existent bosom. “Obviously, your evil scheme isn’t going to work on me, because I don’t have a chest!”

Oh wow, that had hurt more than she’d expected to say. All the wind in her sails, gone in a single utterance.

But the Mimic just laughed. “Don’t worry, my girl, I can fix that.”

“Really?!” Rayne’s aloof façade broke immediately as she shot forward, clutching at the woman’s desk. “How?!?”

A fond hand ruffled her hair in response. “Easily~ I’m a mimic, deary, reshaping chests to fit their environment is what we do.” The Guild Mistress put a finger to her cheek as she observed the figure of the woman in front of her. “I could make you the bustiest healer in the kingdom if I wanted to.”

Rayne’s eyes widened, and her cheeks burned red. She released the desk nervously, her fingers twiddling around one another. “Oh. Ah. W-well. How… How very evil of you…”

The healer trailed off into silence.

…

“So are you going to try to escape?” The Guild Mistress asked, eyebrow raised.

“Weeelllll…” Rayne coughed. “I probably won’t make it. I mean, Lady Halver has a twenty level advantage on me…” She gestured towards the knight still guarding the door.

“True.” The Mimic nodded understandingly. “Her attempt at escaping when she found out about me was how we found out we needed to focus on recruiting more healers…”

“Oh, I believe it.” Yeah, those muscles would put a sword through solid stone! “And even if I get past her there’s like an entire guild on the other side of the door ready to stop me, all of whom are technically innocent victims that it’d be wrong to hurt…”

More silence. That stuff was really getting heavy around here.

“Soooo, for the safety of myself and others, I should probably just surrender ahead of time,” the green haired healer finally finished, clasping her hands behind her back. “For the greater good and all.”

“For the greater good,” the Mimic nodded along, smiling. “Very well. So, would your like your chest in D or double D?” She pulled out a golden coin as she spoke, shimmering with cursed magic.

“Oh, y’know, I think it’d really boost my abilities as a healer if you made them as big as you can,” she answered casually. “So how does this wor-?”

Before she could even finish asking, the other woman had leaned over her desk and pushed the coin into Rayne’s skin, just at the tip of her sternum. It slipped inside her like she was a mechanical fortune teller at the fair, sending a wave of tingles through her body.

She felt it rolling around inside her. A strange feeling – kind of like something gently brushing the inside of her ear canal, only in her chest instead. Not unpleasant, just- Ooohh…

With a clatter, the coin plunked itself into her core, sending a wave of warmth through he body. She heard a ringing Ping sound between her ears, and her lips widened into a blank smile as her eyes turned gold.

Then her robes burst open as her chest suddenly swelled outwards, plunging up through the cup size index like the alphabet song played on fast forward. It took a long while for the growth surge to halt, and when it did, each breast was easily bigger than her head. They stood out proudly on her chest for a moment, before a golden shimmer locked them away inside a golden leotard, complete with gloves and stockings.

She was a true member of the guild at last.

“Welcome to the Horde, dear,” her Mistress giggled, kissing her on the forehead, before drawing a moan from her by giving her new chest a grope. “Now go and fetch me some more loot, hm?”

“Yes Mistress!” Rayne saluted, before turning to go and do just that, the widest smile of her life on her lips. After all, she’d just joined the best guild ever! It truly was the greatest thing to ever happen to her~
