(Quest Suggestions) SongsTress Quest Episode 46: Battle of the Bands (Patreon)

The Story So Far...

"Well... You can have... uh..." Oh man, you don't want to do this. Serenities are supposed to be yours! Ugh. "I mean I guess you can have Melody if you beat her...?"

"Oooh, to do whatever I like with?" Collect's eyes flash as she grins. She seems keen! Maybe there's some leftover resentment in there from her Serenity days. "She'll be mine, right? All mine?"

N- Nnnn. "Yyyyeah. All yours." You slump. She should be all yours! Bah!

"Deal!" She grabs your hand and shakes it. Black lightning crackles around the two of you for a moment, but it fades quickly. Phew, you get the feeling if you hadn't made a good deal there, that probably would have been the end of you. "Now where'd she go...?"

Huh?

Oh crap. You were so focused on this problem that you completely forgot about the other one! You've still got one Serenity left to fight, and she's not just been standing around waiting for you to handle Collect. Rude, honestly. She can't have gone far, though.

"Oh hey, you done?"

See? There she is! In the middle of your main stage. Holding your microphone. She's twirling it between her fingers, in fact. Uh, hey, knock it off. Is there a level above rude? Because Melody is ascending quick!

And she's not even paying attention to you! She's just giving Collect a sheepish look. "Sorry, D. We both knew you were compromised, so letting you be the distraction was kind of the only play. Thanks for doing it so well!"

Your minion(-ish?) shrugs her off. "Happy to help, Mel! Now how about I return the favour by turning you into a jukebox full of SongsTress' greatest hits?"

She raises her hand, firing an attack from her finger again, but Melody raises the mike to her mouth and-

The wave of sound blasts through the room, knocking the bolt of black lighting harmlessly off course. It's so loud - they must have heard that through the whole arena!

Well, yeah, right, that's what you designed that sound system to do. But it's supposed to be you using it!

"SongsTress, you've been having a lot of fun on stage," Melody winks at you. "But it's time for the real star to take over. Tell me what you think of this little number..."

Oh. Oh that bitch.
