Actually Valborg (Walpurgis Night), April 30 is the Swedish celebration of the end of Spring and the beginning of Summer. The capping ceremony is just happening at the same time. They will eventually wear their caps and pack themselves into the back of trucks and drive around blasting loud music and generally creating teenage hell.

I think one of the saddest things in this episode (and perhaps the most beautiful writing) is that Wille says Simon can trust him. And, just as in Season 1 Episode 6 before Wille makes his statement, Simon is not so sure that he can.

Great reaction as always guys🙌🙌❤️. I am not sure if it’s already been mentioned before but keep an extra eye on the song choices & lyrics to scenes in each episode! They play an important role in understanding every character & might give clues to the plot line & where the stories are heading/ what the writers are saying! I also wanted to say that it is known that this WASNT their FIRST time in terms of sex in this way😉, they are experienced at this point, Lisa, Edvin & OMAR also said they had to ”FIGHT” Netty to allow them to FILM the sex scene the way they did cause it was important to them that SAME SEX sex was shown just as explicitly as heterosexual sex was shown back in S1 & S2, Netty originally wanted them to Tone it down but they fought & succeeded for it to be shown exactly like this so that it is shown how beautiful same sex intimacy can also be, it’s was Beautifully shot, excellently acted out by Omar & Edvin at every step of the way 👌🙏🫶. The speech that Felice’s dad had with Felice is the exact speech that EVERY POC will hear growing up, as a person of colour in Sweden, that whole scene hit home soo much and it was perfectly executed, it’s insane how REAL & authentic YRs is as a show, it tackles soo many different themes & undertones, on the surface as a teen coming of age drama but once you realise the DEPTH of what it actually is, they are talking socialist , economic, classism, race, eating disorders, sexuality, gender , equality and there just to mention a few! It’s really one if the BEST shows to ever come out of Scandinavia!!. Very looking forward to the next one with you, sit tight, it’s ….🤷🏾‍♀️☺️🤭🤭

Valburg's is a Nordics wide event, always 1st of May and a bank holiday. It is also called Labor Day and it is political. The purpose of the day is to fight against classism and to speak for labor rights and equality in work life. It used to have some elements of communism and socialism, nowadays no more communism but still social democratic values are very present in the marching and chants.

The sex scene. Like mentioned here, it was pretty explicit on purpose and it demonstrated that teenage gays do have real penetration and sex, it's not just some sort of heavy petting or touching. That scene hopefully makes it visible to younger audience, possibly still struggling with their own gay sexuality and intimacy, that it's all "normal" and "healthy", just like in heterosexual copulation. The song choice is super important in that scene. The song is called Uti vår hage and it's an old song from late 1800s. If you look at the lyrics, it is listing a lot of different plants, seeds, flowers and herbs. That list is a list of ingredients to a recipe for home made medicine for abortion. The recipe was hidden in those lyrics. It was already the start of the sexual revolution and first steps towards women's rights to decide of their own bodies. Like EVERYTHING in this show, it was chosen on purpose and it is clearly a political matter in the context of that scene. Did you notice that the boys said "I love you" both ways at the end of the intercourse? Very sweet to make sure it is understood as making love, and not just horny f***ing.

I hope Adam has already recovered from the hallway scene. He clearly dissociated and had an out-of-body experience and it took him awhile before he returned to reality. 😂😂😂 JUST KIDDING. But it was hilarious to see the actual shock. 😍

Brace yourself kids, it’s gonna be a wild ride from here until the very end! 😅 That sequence of Sara back at Hillerska is one of the most heartbreaking scenes I’ve ever watched & so beautifully shot (as was the following scene 💯). Wilmon are starting to realize that being together has real consequences. It’s devastating because when it’s just them, they are so happy & good for each other. It’s the outside influences that are causing discord. Wille feels so much pressure to be this CrOwN prINCE 👑 that everyone expects, but it makes him so uncomfortable. Simon is slowly having to give up his individual expression which is so important to him. And now his family’s safety is threatened. So heartbreaking 💔 What would you do if you were them?? Buckle up!

I love every word you just said. I think the sex scene is really important for the same reasons as you. Love is love and one version should not be censored more than another. That scene shows how much they just cannot get enough of each other and they have a deep connection on every level. Also... Can racism just be over now? It's so exhausting. I hate that POC have to have different conversations with their kids than I have to have with mine just because we're white. *sigh*

YESSSS!! :) definitely SKAM Norway - especially season 3. i feel like SKAM paved the way earlier on for shows like young royals. there hadn't really been any teenage LGBTQIA+ series - and as usual, it was a nordic country leading the way. love isak and even!

I also LOVE the consistency that Simon ALWAYS responds to Wille with ”I LOVE YOU” Not with the added “too” to really demonstrate that it’s not simply a response to Wille’s words but rather a CONFIRMATION of his love to Wille, and the ONLY time he does say “I Love you Too” is when he gets told off by Wille & by extension the royal court for his art in ep 2, you can tell that that “I LOVE YOU” was NOT genuine but simply a response to Wille telling him back , ALOT of that entire exchange said ALOT by not saying much! 🙏. Nothing is EVER left out in this show, EVERYTHING YOU see, Hear on screen is DELIBERATE down to the colour choices & everything in the background 👌👌

Skam France is a must-see. The paint scene, especially. There's a BTS video about that scene. Long story short: they were so into their characters, the director had to help undress them. By the end of the shoot, the director called "Cut!" but the boys didn't hear him. So they let the scene play out. By the time it was over, both boys had lost their modesty garments and they were crying and the entire crew was crying. One of the most remarkable things is that both were presumably straight. I'm so glad they displayed homosexual love in this way! I genuinely believe media representation is so important, of course the depiction of a gay relationship is wonderful, but showing it like it's any other relationship (like the heterosexual romance scenes shown in so many movies/tv) is so healthy and so special.

Your point reminds me of the scene in S3 of Heartstopper. After the boys decide to take things further, Nick drops Charlie off at his house , & Charlie says "I love you" back to him instead of "I love you too" and it was so sweet how it was like a deliberate sign that they were progressing in the relationship . 😊❤️

It's my favourite scent only because it showed whatever they were doing is just as natural as if it was a boy and girl. I love how they weren't afraid to push boundaries in this show compared to others . And loved Adams face omg I was the same when first saw it, the filming was just beautiful and the acting however my favourite bit of the hallway scene is when they were both standing at the window the look of love or maybe desire was so authentic and just stunning ❤️

I never really liked that no-one in his family was there for him when Eric died ( he got a hug from the headmistress, which he obviously desperatrly needed) His mom told him immediately he would have to take over for Eric as of now. And now the so called parent trauma dumps on our boy. It just never sat well with me
