In this video, we react to Season 1: Episode 5 of The Last of Us, "Endure and Survive".

We're a bit late, but finally jumping on 'The Last of Us' bandwagon! We're excited to finish the first season and start the second with everyone when it premieres on Sunday, April 13.

"The Last of Us", based on the hit video game with the same title, follows Joel- a hardened survivor- as he's tasked with escorting Ellie, a seemingly immune 14-year-old, through a post-apocalyptic United States ravaged by a fungal pandemic that turns humans into aggressive, zombie-like creatures.

Amazing reaction as always. Btw, Kathleen's general the guy with the big beard. His real name is Jeffrey Pierce. He is the original Tommy actor (voice and motion capture) in the video game. Joel's original actor Troy Baker also appears in a similar role in a later episode. Same with Ellie. Love that they are involved in this show!

Most of us go into the game or show first thinking it’s a fun combat game against the Infected, but it is definitely a huge commentary on humanity and morality. Like you can understand how certain villains became what they became but Kathleen lived long enough to become what she hated. I think we all know this is exactly how something like this would play out in the real world. Adam was completely right — the point kind of is that the people are worse than the Infected. But there’s also so many beautiful people despite going through this for 20 years at this point. A lot of decisions the characters make can be understood, not necessarily justifiable but it truly is a “every man for himself”, “dog-eat-dog” world they’re living in. Really really loving y’all’s reactions as always! 🩷

"if you turn into a monster is it still you inside?"- so unfortunately we do have an answer for this which makes this moment even worse, if that's possible. not sure if it's been explicitly confirmed by the creators, but in the game there's at least one instance where you can hear a runner (first stage of infection) crying as she's gnawing on a body🧍‍♂️like imagine having any form of consciousness while being forced to do that. i'd be praying for someone to shoot me fr

I love when Joel's shooting from the house to protect Ellie, one of the only game adaptations to a show where it feels lie this is a game moment but also feels like it fits perfectly as a just part of an episode. R.I.P. Super Sam <3

Ever since my son was born, anything with kids being scared, dangerous, vulnerable hits me hard. Like I feel it viscerally. I thought watching this the second time would be easier but I still cried a lot. This episode had a bit of everything but knowing it was coming the whole time was hard.

I loved Sam and Henry. Sam and Ellie were actually kids again amidst the horror and fear. So sad it ended like it did. BTW the writing toy is called the Magic Slate.
