Its so funny!! Everywhere we either translated it or looked it up said something different 😭 so we kind of summed it up… but we DEFINITELY got it wrong in the video lolll. I like bullshit more than ridiculous hehehehe

happy to watch this over... I initially only watched all the season 3's of every version lol.. and then eventually came back and watched the other seasons and all of them were pretty good.. next to S3.. I would say S4 was my next favorite.. as it tackled very important issues.

I'll add a few points of context, without spoilers of course: 1. From what I understand they didn't actually license any of this music, as they never intended to publish it outside Scandinavia. This is why it never got an official release internationally despite how popular it became. 2. Yes, kids in Norway generally get more freedom than in other countries which might seem jarring but when you remember that Norway is one of the safest countries it makes more sense. 3. Also, just since I've seen some people get a unrealistic view of Norway from this show I just wanna make it clear that most of the teens in this show are upper middle-class if not upper-class so its not completely representative of the average life of Norwegian teens.

The word "dust" basically means stupid. "Jonas, dette er helt dust" means "Jonas, this is completely stupid". So she said the situation is stupid, not specifically Jonas.

Not a spoiler: I recommend you guys getting more insight about the bus and the whole russ tradition in Norway. The next episode is going to focus more on that and it would be good for you guys to know what it is all about.

Glad you’re enjoying so far, Skam truly is iconic, it inspired and paved the way for lots of shows to come after. To explain the “bus” comment from ep 1 because it’s pretty important to understand some plotlines in this show: it’s a tradition in norway to buy or rent a party bus (or big van) with your friends when you graduate secondary school, where you spend the exam/graduation period partying and drinking and playing loud music. It’s called a “russ bus”, you usually choose a theme/concept and name and raise money to decorate it etc, like the “Pepsi Max” girls that Isak was talking about. Since they all just started high school, it’s pretty early to be thinking about graduation parties already 😅 Hope that explanation makes some sense!

Actually there is as far as the ENGLISH pronunciation goes because that's what it sounds like in the English language. There's no point in trying to pronounce it in the Norwegian language when one is trying to explain it for English speaking people.

It's pronounced more like "scum" than "skarm", unless your English accent doesn't make you pronounce the letter R in the middle of a word.
