In this video, we react to the Season 2 Premiere of Skam (Cast of Norway) - "Om du bare hadde holdt det du lovet" / "If only you'd kept your promises".

We're reacting to the second season of the highly anticipated SKAM! Bradam is excitedly taking on the original series that started it all. After many requests to watch this show following our "Young Royals" journey, we're headed to Oslo for the drama. This season, we focus on Noora Sætre, her flatmates, and the relationships shaping her year.

Watch as this group of Norwegian teens tackle identity, feminism, homosexuality, mental illness, religion, bullying, friendship, romance and the like, all while navigating their high school experience.

i'm so excited for you guys to react to this season. Personally season 2 is my favourite season as it shows some of the best character growth of all the show. I hope, when the time is right, you'll be able to see that and let the characters grow from their past and learn

Also, in the manuscript for this season which got published as a book, there's a text chain between William and Noora which sets up the 'you promised me a date' which was never shown in the show. Basically Noora asks William to apologize and he agrees. AFTER he agrees to apologize, he asks if she'll go on a date with him and she agrees without him pressuring her at all. It's unfortunate they never show this, because it makes the whole scenario way less blackmaily. I'll put the translation in the replies so people can collapse it

If someone is from outside the cities in Norway, it's very common to move out when they start VGS/High School. Politically, Norway is devided into 15 counties and 357 municipalities, each of the municipalities are resposible for the schools before VGS/High School level, while the counties are responible for the VGS/High Schools. This means that there might not be a high school close to where you live if you live outside the cities, and even if there is, it might not have the classes you want to take. The government gives a stipend to kids that needs to live away from their parents, if the travel distance is more than 40km, or if the total travel time per day is more than 3 hours. For 2025-2026, the "living on their own"-stipend will be 6871 nok (about 500 british pounds) pr month, for 11 months. There are also other types of government issued stipends that kids can apply for. If someone drops out of school, then the stipend becomes a cheap loan instead. I was born late in the year, so I was still 15 years old, when I moved out for VGS/High School.

no it`s not VERY common. it must be in Finnmark, there biggest distances are. and students have to moove or it`s a very rare school line that they just have to go on. no parents wants to send 16 year olds far away. Usually they can move to the neighboring town to be able to go on the desired line.

This is not my favorite season. The episodes are so long, and Noora speaks so unnaturally slowly. But this season addresses a very important topic. as all other seasons do. And right in the middle of this season, the ratings for the NRK state channel in Norway that showed Skam broke all records in ratings. And Eskild - the fantastic character is presented here. and not least Linn.

It can be quite common. Literally half my class in high school lived alone because they wanted to go to the school in my city. Some of my friends from middle school also moved to other cities for school.

Mine is the third. Because it's so brilliant. Short episodes, but so much in them. And the young actors were so good. I followed the season in real time, and the NRKP3 page with all the messages and clips. This site was open on my phone the whole time, plus I checked all the characters' instagrams many times per day. But I like the 4th season too, especially- the last episode.

Nooo not feeling the slight negativity around S2 in the comments. It's my absolute FAVORITE, I watched it live as it aired and it really had the whole of Norway in a chokehold, waiting for every single clip to drop. It's such a good season with a great message behind it, like every season of course. Can't wait for the rest!

So, Olga, maybe it's not very common were you live, but literally everyone were I live moves out when starting VGS, and almost everyone in my VGS class was living on their own, and, no, I don't come from Northern Norway.

I would say it really depends on where in the country you come from. It's not at all common in Oslo and the surrounding urban areas (because they have the highest concentration of high schools and all the possible choices nearby), but very common in more rural parts of the country. Everyone I grew up with had to move out at 15/16 to go to high school.

With the context of this being in Oslo I would say it is very uncommon to move out to go to VGS, unless you are attending a specific course that only a few schools offer (and studiespesialiserende is not one of those). I live an hour from Oslo and pretty much everyone lived at home and just travelled to school every day.

I hoped that Noora had shut down William. The character creeps me out. Find it incredulous that he’s Mr. Popular. Totally strikes me as the type who peaks in high school. Ten years on, he’s probably still hitting on first year girls.

Small details are very important in this series. The little note on the wall in Noora's room is important. Remember that note when you are going to judge the characters prematurely in this series.

Haha, I think I originally translated this in a YouTube comment somewhere. But yesss, I wish they had included this in the show (or at least in the accompanying texts on the websites), because it makes it much less bad. This whole episode William feels very blackmaily, but this puts it into context, at the very least.
