In this video, we react to Season 4 Episode 6 of Skam (Cast of Norway) - "Har du en dårlig dag / Are you having a bad day?"

We have made it to the final season of SKAM Norway! 🥲💛 This season, we focus on our queen Sana Bakkoush, as she navigates balancing her faith, friendships, and budding romance with her brother's non-Muslim friend, Yousef, tackling themes of religious identity, cyberbullying, and in classic Skam fashion, all the high school drama one could ask for.

Watch as our group of Norwegian teens tackle identity, queerness, substances, mental illness, religion, bullying, friendship, romance and the like, all while navigating their high school experience.

Stay tuned for the next episode! 🥰🇳🇴

Sana stresses me out so much at times !! her season was the most difficult for me to actually watch.

Inna Kajaste

Same, because it felt like her actions here were soo against her core values, and I can't help but feel like there's some self-loathing there that she swiftly redirects to others and thus compromises so much about who she is (which to me is someone who knows her values and a fierce defender of those she holds dearest).

Tying a Pine cone in the russ hat means you had sex in the woods/outside😅 and is unfortunately a staple in russ culture

the password "yellow curtains" is a reference to Isak's season where he and Evan were talking about parallel universes. they joked about another universe where they would have had yellow curtains.

Patrick

There were a few callbacks to Season 3 in that scene in the “old married couple” Evak household. Yellow curtains!!! That’s what was the 1 difference Even proposed when Isak first spoke about parallel universes. And there’s the topic of not wanting to share everything yet. Think of Isak’s own past.🐍🐍🐍 Recall the cute scene in ep10 when Isak says he’s a “master liar” & Even has no idea the things he’s gotten away with? And then Isak doesn’t want to tell when Even asks (“You don’t want to know.”)? So Isak remembers feeling exactly what Sana is talking about.

Flo

Not you guys being like “aaawww she’s meeting up with Isak to open up to him” I was laughing so hard! I really thought you’d know better after 3 full seasons of the show ❤️ (said with all the love!)

Sid

I love how, despite what Sana is doing to Isak, she still is the voice of reason when he asks her about knowing Even. Also, seeing Iask from Sana's POV: he's gentler, softer, loving and... lovable....

Sid

And, as always with SKAM, it's the 'incidental', background details that are just as important: listen to the English voice on the radio and what he's saying whilst Sana's parents are talking about buying a new car....

Venla

I do like how realistic the conflict this season is. Yes Sara is the mean girl and also prejudiced and racist towards Sana. In the messages she is right about a tanning salon sponsoring teenage girls being bad and that makes the conversation more realistic. It makes sense as well that Sana would want to know what Sara said about Vilde since she's been so protective of her but I think she also has some selfish motives.

Love the “yellow curtains “ reference so cute

The flashbacks during her prayer is her remembering things people wrote about her at her old school, where she was bullied for being muslim. They wrote stuff like "i hope you get forced married and sent to Africa so we will be rid of you", "why are you wearing that shit on your head ... we will rip it off you". Jamilla defended Sana back when she was bullied. Jamilla later got engaged to Sanas older brother (not Elias)

Hilde

I think those comments shown during prayer are also screenshots or pics taken of actual/real-life comment sections? Which would tie in Sana’s (fictional) experiences with what many Muslims probably experience on a daily basis. Or am I imagining this 🤔

Charlotte

Jamila is NOT Sana's sister, she is her sister-in-law. Married to her older brother, not Elias obviously.

How Sana views Noora in this season is so interesting. Noora gets more glowy, blonde and her red lip seems redder. Contrasted with Sana's darker make up this episode. She completely views herself as lesser compared to Noora. When Noora calls her out last episode about caring about russ when she didn't care before. Russ is at this point the epitome of Norwegian girlhood. Noora is the epitome of Sana's idea of a Norwegian girl. So Sana's conflict is how yo be her true self whilst also being Norwegian. The truth of it is: everytime anyone Muslim in the show has referred to Sana's friends as Norwegians, they're saying that they are not Norwegian. Of course, they're just using a short hand to describe the majority population of the country, but it firmly puts Sana in a box as 'other'. And Sana is claiming her space as a different type of Norwegian girl, but still definitely Norwegian. This topic reminds me of the current controversy that Zara Larsson is having with critics of her song Stateside where she sings about kissing her Swedish boy over Facetime. The critics are saying her boyfriend, who is a Black Swedish boy is not Swedish. Her boyfriend Lamin Holmén is one of Omar's dancers in the past and when he tours with Zara. So yeah, the identity crisis that Sana is experiencing: how she perceives herself and how she is perceived, is the real problem she's facing and projecting onto this Sara situation.

thank you for the clarification idk how we missed it 😩😵‍💫🩵

I think you're right, I also remember reading something about that when the series originally aired 😉

I really like how Sana's makeup is line up with how she is feeling. When she's happy the makeup is light and brighter and when she's angry or sad it's dark and stronger. In this episode it's almost like she's puttning on war painting to fight for herself. I feel so much for Sana in this season💔 even though I've seen it sooo many times

Drinking Game: take a shot every time Yousef looks at Sana in the kitchen

Mo

The pine cone line refers to a list that people who are russ get that has a whole bunch of random "dares" you can do during the Russ season. Each dare has a corresponding token that you get for completing said dare and you tie it onto your hat. You are suppsed to have witnesses but many of the dares are sexual so... 🫣😂
