In the future... so don’t let the suspense kill you BUT… 😋 If ;) we had someone who was apart of the creation of Heated Rivalry on Bradam Reacts, what would you want to ask them about HR that you haven’t had answered yet? What would you like to know more about? ❤️‍🔥

It could be about Hudson/Conner, it could be about the adaptation, the acting, direction, specific scenes, intimacy coordinators, Jacob Tierney, Rachel Reid, any of the gurls, the process, the editing, the music, reception afterwards, etc. What would you want to us to ask them? You guys have seen lots of interviews, read lots of articles, what would you still like to know? 💕

Go wild... be earnest or funny, just leave your questions below! 🫡

Grace

I would ask what their looking forward to for next season or the story of how they got their role

tenli/psyche

ok my question is: if there were any specific details that they added on purpose to further put a scene/character into perspective?

Cathy(Retired John Cena) 🫣

bradam: dont let the suspense kill you then oh were interviewing someone from HR what the heck u two 🤣🤣🤣

Lou

Oh wow amazing 😍 I would wanna know if they knew anything about the extra episode that's supposedly planned in between season 1 and 2? And also what we can expect from the next season in terms of appearances of other characters from the books? 😊

@baydreamer

One actor on YR was asked if he ever had a physical reaction during an intimacy scene and he said, surprisingly, he did not. I'd be curious if either Hudson or Connor did and how it was handled. Those scenes are so realistic - I'm reacting at home and I'm an old straight lady!!

Irem7🩷💜💙

I want to know Hudson or Connor: how they are feeling after the fame and they are comfortable to continue to make more seasons like first time. I am so afraid they will loose their passion about the show because of the unnecessary dramas

brittany 🌻

I would ask them how they think the music (especially the Peter Peter pieces) added to the whole production/viewer experience in their opinion.

Jacqui Chesterton

I want to know what is, to them, the most Canadian element or moment in the show. I have my own answer, but I want to know other people's 😂

Carla

Why miles was kissing Shane on the neck on the club scene? Were Rose and Miles testing Shane?

Kimmy

also would love to know how it has felt to see the hard work on the show pay off!! what has it felt like to receive the amount of love and appreciation that most likely wasn’t super expected!

Jayjaylewlew

If it’s an actor then I’m so curious about the audition process! What scene from the show was used to audition for the character? Also timing of the second season if they are expected to be in it- how does it work with taking on your next non-HR project? I feel like there isn’t enough time in between now and season 2 for Hudson/connor/or anyone to take on a whole movie or show. How does that work?

CG

Female actor: which male part would you want to play in this. Male: What female part would you be most suited to play in this?

Bradam Reacts

they are trying to PUMP these season out now! i can only imagine what kinda contracts they’re going to have to draft up now

Sy

How do things like sound and color inform the performances and/direction of the story?

CG

Are you more like Kip and Scott in a relationship or more like Shane and Ilya?

Bradam Reacts

thank you! we’re so excited!! it’s gotta be the loon but there has to be some niche canadian-isms that i’m unaware of 😭

CG

How jealous are you of Connor's 🍰?

icyguess

Jacob’s interactions with his actors are so wholesome and he’s so protective of them. I love it so much. My question: what was one of the funniest moments between Jacob and a cast member during filming.

Bradam Reacts

thought I heard something about that episode too!! would love to know who they have planned on showing up next season

Jacqui Chesterton

Haha for me it's when Hayden says "fuckin rights". Such a Canadianism.

K

I would love to hear what if anything surprised them in the final cut!

Zaara A

If they (assuming they're an actor in the show) could've played any other part, who would've they chosen?

Claudia Posch

Their intimacy coordinator actually said something about this. She said something like 'on her sets it hasnt happened' so I guess that included HR. 🤷‍♀️🫣

thecompanion188

If it is one of the actors who was involved in the hockey scenes, I would love to know more about their experience with filming. How much did they know about hockey beforehand and have they been to a game? Did they know how to skate previously or did they have to learn for the show?

Kat

Omg I'm so excited for this!

icyguess

I like this question!

j-l

WHAT DO YOU MEAN??? omg im so happy for you guys you deserve this <333

Jenni

Wow this is so exciting! Okay I cant deside so here's three: 1. Which were the hardest scenes to act without breaking the character or not cracking up? Were there any scene they really struggled to nail because they were just cracking up again and again? 2. How many times did they have to shoot the "Arriving to the cottage" scene where Ilya goes inside the cottage for the first time? Because It's just so unbelievably long in one take, so so amazing scene! 3. Were there a lot of impro from the actors when they were shooting the scenes or did they follow the script strictly?

Jenny_M

Watching the show, it really seemed like everyone "showed up to work" for lack of a better phrase - they had a very small budget, yet the whole cast and crew brought their whole self to set every day and made something incredible that nobody saw coming. I'm curious if this person felt that vibe on set, or if there was anything they saw Jacob or others doing that contributed to it being that way.

Molly

If it’s Jacob, ask him to release the bloopers and any deleted scenes that didn’t make the final cut

Jenni

In previous interviews have been told that they used atleast the bathroom scene (ep2) and the all stars hotel room scene (ep5) ☺️

Bradam Reacts

it was like they knew it was going to work. like people showed up because they KNEW the project was going to stick it’s landing so well! we know it was the leads first bigger roles, i’m sure they were excited and hungry for it!! great question

b

Production: I would love to know how the music is selected! I know the big ones like I'll Believe in Anything were discussed but in general, I've always wondered where show creators find these more niche songs. Actor: who is someone from the on set team that hasn't gotten their flowers that is actually super important?

Ludy

I don't know but I am so excited for y'all! What an opportunity for you both and what a JOY for us to see it! ❤️❤️❤️

Lina

Guys this is amazing!! 😍 My questions are…Is there something about this moment in time that you think has made the show resonate so deeply with so many different people? What does the overwhelming passion and popularity reveal about us currently as a society? Does the reception give you hope for the future?

b

Love these questions!!

Adam Michaels

My question is a bit niche, but I am always interested in how phone call scenes are filmed. Were both actors on set together interacting or was each person filmed completely separate without hearing or seeing the other. Also, There is really only one scene where Shane has a big reaction to something rather than his typical quiet, internal reaction: the scene where comes back into the cottage after his father drove off. What made Hudson decide to go with a big reaction there?

Kenzie_kenz1

Firstly, CONGRATS to you guys for landing someone from the show! So deserved 🥰 My question is, in the book we know that Shane has a girlfriend when he first meets/hooks up with Ilya that he later breaks up with, and we also know that he has hooked up with other men. The show makes brief mention of a female ex during the aquarium scene with Hayden and Shane, but there’s never any mention of other hookups with guys, so I think it’s fair to assume from the show that Ilya is Shane’s first and only gay experience Wondering what went into that choice to veer away from the book and what they think it lent to Shane and Ilya’s story

E

I just tried to hold my scream at a movie theater 😭😭😭 Great job guys!!

Bradam Reacts

wait the phone call questions is real af why don’t i know how they do that 😭 if I had a guess, they have someone reading the opposing lines off-camera during the actors filming turn. like they have connor reading his own lines how he would if he was on the phone and then film hudson’s side of the call. great questions!

Kenzie_kenz1

A second question! Hudson said in an interview that sex drives the story in Heated Rivalry and that in each intimate scene, Shane and Ilya start in one place (in their relationship) and end up in another. Basically, sex is their conversation and also relays so much to the audience about where they are in their dynamic So, hotness aside 🫦, if they could use ONE word to sum up what each intimate scene represents or is meant to convey, what would those words be?

Kenzie_kenz1

A third question (sorry 😅) The fanbase has been breaking down detail after detail for MONTHS lol. What’s the scene, line, performance choice or other detail from the show that most surprised you to see/hear fans obsessing over?

Mo

Omg congrats!!!

snallahej

Congrats guys! My question is what Jacob had in mind as the reason why David drives off from the cottage after seeing Shane and Ilya kissing? I’ve seen different interpretations, but it seems weird to me.

Adam Michaels

I have been on TV show sets where the stage manager reads says the other character's lines, but both ways can happen depending on what is being filmed at the time. Sometimes one actor isn't on set for whatever reason and isn't available to cue lines. With a short shooting schedule it's likely both actors are there but a call between Ilya and Alexi might be filmed separately like on different days for each person.

Jessica B

Congrats! This is super exciting!!

CorreiaFoxx

I’m so excited!! Congratulations 🥳

Eli L

"L’anarchie des jours heureux" that plays when they are driving to the cottage in E06 (The cottage) is the theme song of this Quebecker YA tv show that aired 10 years ago, called Le Chalet (French for "the cottage"): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k9FDit6rgQI. I think it's such a cute little touch, and it really tickled me. I would like to know who thought of it, how it was selected and if it made them chuckle since the reference will be missed by 99.999 of the audience. Super niche, I know, but just putting it out there.

ShelikesKpop2000

Ok, my question is a little weird and kind of random, but if you have HudCon, I was wondering if they actually ate the tuna melt, because wouldn't there be tuna breath? Which leads to my other random question (kind of), which is; what is their favorite sandwich of all time? Coming from a food lover.

Julia F

I would love to hear anything more about the amazing women in this show who are the fiercest of besties and love their respective queer men enough to push them towards authenticity. I feel like we really haven't had enough focus on Svetlana, Elena and Rose and the crucial role they play in helping these men to unlearn the toxic shit that keeps them stuck/hidden. I think it's a really powerful depiction of how patriarchy and toxic masculinity harms men just as much as it harms women, just in different ways.

Lilly Mari 🇧🇻🌿

If it's Robbie I'm curious to know why he was in Norway last summer (saw pics on Instagram) and what he thought of our country 🇧🇻😍

amélie

If it is for Jacob, I want to know what it was like/his feelings towards writing a book adaption for the first time and if he liked having source material to work from.

Margi

I want to know if they are thinking about incorporating any other books into the long game. Also if this series keeps going well, will they do all the game changer books in new seasons of their own?

Carey

He drove away in the book

Sh M

Are they going to explore Shane’s ED in the next season?…

Sh M

Does jacob creat the show with details for us to find on purpose? Like does he keep that in mind during the production process????

Crystal Pritchard

For Jacob, I’d love to know whether they used ADR in episode 4 for after the tuna melt scene the first time Shane and Ilya say each other’s names. It sounds a voiceover. Did the recording just not work that day? Did they forget to record them saying their names? Is it not ADR and it just sounds funny for some other reason?

Crystal Pritchard

I don’t know if this is true because I’m Canadian so it didn’t strike me as strange, but apparently Shane answering “yeah, no” when Rose asked if any hockey players were “out” is a Canadian thing.

Jacqui Chesterton

It's hard to tell when they're speaking our language isn't it 😂

icyguess

Easter egg discussion would def be interesting!

IAmom

Boys ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ This is huge 🤩 I feel like this interview would need a moderator (me 😬😉🤪) - have your people call my people 😀. So proud of and happy for you guys ❤️

Ashton Reynolds

This is so exciting! 😬 I know the fandom has obsessed over every detail at this point, but I’m wondering if there’s either 1. An Easter egg that it seems we’ve missed or 2. A scene/moment/performance that they think deserves more kudos/attention than it gets. Also, we’ve heard of some scenes where Hudson and Connor did some improv, but I’m wondering if any of the other actors/actresses had notable improv moments that really added to a particular scene.

TheWhiteQuill

I would love to know if some of the Easter Eggs or things people only notice on rewatches... were intentional. For instance... in Episode 4 during the opening montage, when we have the transition from the slam against the boards, to the slam on the couch... if you listen below the music (the music is loud so it can take a few times to catch it) you can hear Ilya's voice say "I want to please you". Given in the books Ilya is very much wanting to "please" Shane sexually, it was fitting.. but was the audio from another scene that wasn't shown, clipped from a scene that was shortened and edited into that point... or was it audio clipped especially for that transition scene. I'm just fascinated by little things like that...

marie assist

This might be a slightly selfish question, but would they ever consider doing an Asian leg promotion for Season 2, specifically in the Philippines? They have such a strong fan base here 🥲 I truly love them, and I’m so grateful for the way this show allowed me to meet incredible people who share the same mental state as me lolol. This show and this fandom have given me a kind of warmth I honestly haven’t felt for the past 26 years of my life. I’m turning 27 with a better outlook and my head held high!! xoxo, Anna

eSsiE

If it’s Jacob, I’d like to know if he is familiar with SKAM and the impact that little Norwegian show had and if he would consider working with Julie Andem. Their love for their characters and the way every little detail is thought of in writing and directing both series has me in aw.

swoony.books

I’ve seen Jacob mention that he was inspired by Young Royals (and even before I read that, like when I was 10 min into episode 1 I was like, damn, there are sooooo many similarities between this and YR!! (Just to name a few; lighting, music, score, framing, logo, title sequence, hidden gems etc.) So I’d like to know how conscious those in production was about this? Like was it something they talked about? Cause it might just be Jacob direction the shit out of this. But I could also imagine him in their first meeting, saying something like “go home, watch young royals, that’s the vibe I want”

mari

connor and some of the other actors said in interviews that he stayed in his accent most of the time but not in character, so he would joke around and be himself but with the russian accent

Alfy N

I've a question about the scene in the club with Shane, Rose, and Miles. Does Miles kiss Shane? What is the meaning of this scene? I've seen several theories that it's a metaphor for what Shane really wants. Is that true?

mari

if it's an actor, what drew them in to audition for that specific character and not any other characters? i know there's a lower chance it's connor but if it is, i would love to know what else he did to play a russian role besides working on the accent? a lot of people say he got the slavic stare and russian mannerisms down so i want to know if he studied that or what kind of work went into that was there a scene you loved in the books but wasn't included in the show? and if it's jacob, is there a scene that he regrets not putting in the show? i don't know if you'd want to ask this or not cause i guess it's kind of controversial, but a lot of people think that straight men tend to prefer scott and kip over shane and ilya and people have a lot of theories on why that is. what is their take on this?

Hannah Bruner

If it's one of the creators: Heated Rivalry is the best shot show I have ever seen. Each choice seemed intentional. The lighting, the blocking, the hidden subtexts, perfectly timed music cues; it's a masterpiece. Assuming the next season will have a bigger budget to play with, will the style remain the same? Or will having more freedom for bigger sets change the way the show looks? If it’s an actor: Knowing the struggles your character goes through in the show, what is one piece of advice you would give them?

Michael

Ask them any question at all, but if It's Connor Storrie I probably won't hear any spoken words at all as I will be fully concentrating on his face and body (and those amazing lips) for however long the podcast lasts! 😊

Bradam Reacts

HAHAHA the real problem would be me not being able to speak while looking at him 😭

Bradam Reacts

me eyes saw some neck kisses if i do recall correctly 👀 😉

Janey P

Firstly congratulations! A question for Jacob: the music choices all fit so beautifully. How did he and (music supervisor) Scotty Taylor go about selecting specific songs to pair with scenes. ie. did they know they wanted Feist's Sealion to soundtrack Ilya & Shane's 1410 intro? And Wet Leg's Mangetout playing over the ep2 opening montage is such an unexpectedly brilliant choice. Where did the idea for that come from ? Thanks!

Isabella Aranda

What was something that fans clung to that you weren’t expecting them to?

Michael

I empathise 😊

Mama Pam

Will more characters from the Game Changers/HR universe be incorporated into future episodes? Have they been cast yet?

Kris

This is a little off topic, but do you think you will react to any more Ember and Ice episodes? I loved your reaction to the first one, 'Finn'.

LGC

What characters from the series would they like to see in season. 2?

Bradam Reacts

yes!! i think we're going to react to the other two parts next! so glad you enjoyed the first one 🥰🥰

CorreiaFoxx

Ok I have a question that just came to me after a reheat of Your reaction to ep 5. If you are talking to Jacob or Brendan - what is it that Ilya is supposed not forget for his niece to pack and why was Svetlana eye-rolling when he told her to put it in the suitcase? It’s bugging me now😜

Caitlin

HELLO THIS IS SO COOL Firstly, as a young queer person who wants to work in the professional sports industry this show changed my life! Okay my question for anyone is how do you get into the creative process of making or acting on something, like your first steps. Thank you so much!!

Charlotte

OMG I clicked so fast whe I read this What was your favourite and least favourite scene to either film or watch?

strem

When someone joins the HR cast or team, what are two traits / additions / contributions you would most want them to bring to the experience? And are what are two traits / additions / contributions that you would not want them to bring or which would be detrimental to the experience? (Asking especially if it would be surprising to the fans)

strem

What are some highlights for you in seeing others' (individuals / reactors / artists / editors / online shout-outs / celebrities/ letters) reactions to and creations about Heated Rivalry? Any that are particularly touching that you will remember? Any that are particularly surprising in a positive way? Any that have made you see things differently than you first did while in the experience of preparing and filming?

strem

What do you now wish you would have known or would have done prior to entering the experience (and later the whirlwind) of creating/participating in Heated Rivalry?

Marte

In what ways have your earlier projects (no matter what form of being a part of creating those) helped you bring your own visions/belief of heated rivalry to life? (If you feel like they have shaped how you approached this particular project ofc)

genevieve miller

What does Hudson & Connor think both their characters do for their skin care routine? Shane seems like he would have a regimented routine similar like Hudson with Japanese/Korean products - whereas I feel like Ilya just splashes water on his face and calls it a day.

Agent Squirrels

Ask Jacob (I'm just assuming here ;) ) is there any part of Game Changer he wishes he'd had time to include in ep 3 (or 5) like Scott meeting Kip's dad for the first time...

Maxwell Holder

What were the tricks to showing Shane & Ilya subtly aging 9 years over 6 episodes? What were some challenges to telling a story that takes place over roughly a decade?

Hannah Bruner

During Ilya’s monologue in episode 5, once Shane closes his eyes, the audio stops having the phone speaker affect whenever it cuts to him listening. It sounds as if he is there, right up until Ilya finishes and Shane opens his eyes. It this intentional, meaning that Shane is so focused on Ilya’s voice that he envisions hearing it in person?

Stacey Ramon

For HW or JT: in the books we know Shane is not a virgin, has been with women tho not particularly enjoyed it & that he does have sex with another man after being with Ilya. Was this left out of the adaptation for budget reasons or for a specific story telling purpose?

Jennifer Colstad

Has Hudson started learning Russian yet? In the second book he speaks quite a bit. Not as much as Conner does but since it is a difficult language to learn, has he started his journey yet?

Dott

This isn't really much of a question, I suppose, as much as it is something I would love to hear expanded upon. The scene where Yuna apologizes to Shane for him not feeling like he could come out to her is exclusive to the show, and I would love to know what compelled them to add it in. Did it have to do with her Asian ethnicity or of the 'momager' side of her that felt that way? I relate strongly to that scene as I am bi myself, but I live a very heteronormative lifestyle, being married to a man. so I am lucky in the sense that I don't ever have to come out to her, but I know she wouldn't accept that part of me if I did, as I am half asian from her side and it isn't accepted in her culture. That scene means the world to me because I feel like I get to live that moment through Shane in that way.

Kitty Betham

To that I add costume designer (Hannah) having to deal with the different years in fashion. PLEASE ask about the shirt Ilya wore to the club there is a small story. Also know which cell phones to use, etc
