In this video, we react to Season 4 Episode 10 of Skam (Cast of Norway) - "Takk for alt" / "Thanks for everything".

We have made it to the final season of SKAM Norway! 🥲💛 This season, we focus on our queen Sana Bakkoush, as she navigates balancing her faith, friendships, and budding romance with her brother's non-Muslim friend, Yousef, tackling themes of religious identity, cyberbullying, and in classic Skam fashion, all the high school drama one could ask for.

Watch as our group of Norwegian teens tackle identity, queerness, substances, mental illness, religion, bullying, friendship, romance and the like, all while navigating their high school experience.

my vote for the next skam version if you decide to do one is DRUCK (german skam). their s3 is probably tied for my fav along with the og skam s3 – i love their different spin on it (but don't want to spoil anything). and their s2 is maybe my favourite of any version (i'm a chronic william hater but i like his character arc in druck the best). their girl squad and boy squad are so great!! i've also really been enjoying SRAM (croatia), their s3 is currently airing!

I can never get past the Linn and Eskild conversation without crying. Taking care of others and giving them the space to take care of you is really what's at the heart of the show, so it just crushes me. Also, I love Vilde and Magnus so much. It's stupid, but I think it took my third watch of the show before I remembered, during that conversation Chris and Vilde had, that Magnus is kinda the perfect person to talk to about her mom. I swear my heart grew three sizes, and I appreciated them so much more.

Druck's "Isak" season was one of my favs, I loved their twist on it... it went off the rails a bit toward the end because the pandemic happened in the middle of filming and they had to cut down the cast to bare bones, had hardly any funding, and they had to completely rearrange the following seasons, it got weird... but STILL one of my favs.

I love how during Jonas speech at the end the camera films the show through a computer screen - so we are watching the scene through the viewers eyes. Also, the comments they show at the end are real life comments from Skam fans, writing hos much Skam has meant to them ❤️🩷💛💚💙 Thank you so much for your reactions!!!!!

It's almost as emotional as watching the finale for the first time. I'm again bawling my eyes out. Now I'm waiting for the bloopers reaction. And you HAVE to react to the video, Even made for Isak's birthday. The one they talked about in Even's clip in this episode. It's incredibly charming, and on youtube, as Even said ;-) If you want even more OG Skam before the remakes, Elias, Yousef, Mikael, Adam, and Mutasim also had a YouTube channel they uploaded videos to.

Omg you guys, thank you for giving so much time and respect to this beautiful, important, iconic show. I was so happy to follow you both on your SKAM journey and am so glad to see you take so much away from it. I found SKAM in winter 2016, through tumblr gifsets of isak and even lying upside down in bed, and was lucky enough to be there live for all of season 4, and then for all the remakes. I was born in 2000, so was around the characters’ age at the time since they were all from 1999, and this show impacted me so so much. After you watch the bloopers, please watch Even’s video for Isak and also the “Hey Briskeby” youtube video of the balloon squad and even! I loved your discussion at the end. “Everyone you meet is fighting a battle you know nothing about. Be kind, always.” together with “Fear spreads. Fortunately, love does too” and “You are not alone.” are the core messages to me. And yes, the way they began and ended with Jonas’ voice? Absolutely perfect. I also loved seeing the impact Skam has had on other tv, especially queer media. Young Royals have said they were very inspired by Skam, and Jacob Tierney said he was very inspired by Young Royals, so technically….. Thank you Julie Andem for Heated Rivalry? My remake recommendation is Druck, the german remake - not only the four original seasons are very well done, but also their seasons 5 and 6 with original characters and storylines were some of my favourites ever. (Seasons 7 and 8 are okay too, but especially 5 and 6 really really hit me.)

I’m so glad you guys watched all of SKAM. You’ve had such an enthused & heartfelt treatment of it. It really is a gem. Julie Andem sure knows how to end a show. It’s a shame each character didn’t get their own season (esp. Vilde), but she gave almost everyone a solid segment here. And we got fan favorites doctor/nurse/doctor Skrulle, her big giant 🍆, Evak sharing another hug in that schoolyard, and even Julian Dahl. Can you imagine Even thinking he’s not good enough for Isak⁉️⁉️ Did you guys catch Even asking Isak if he’d yet found the video on YouTube that Even made for his birthday? And Isak couldn’t guess the name to look for. Gosh, I wonder if there have been any clues🤔 what Even might call a film about Isak??? I just wanted to say thank you for watching SKAM, it was so amazing to watch it again with you and to see your reactions <3 This last episode means so much to me, I always cry when watching it, especially the scene with Vilde and Chris!! And love that you caught right away that it ended the same way it started - with Jonas giving a speech. And I love that we switch perspective to "the viewer" in that montage!! Can't wait for you to watch the bloopers (prepare to get emotional) and all the additional stuff that there is :)

Totally agree. Druck is my fav remake as well. I watched every remake back then and tho I did enjoy most of them, sometimes it was a bit boring watching the exact same story over and over again. That's why I got so intrigued with Druck as they started Season 1 quite similar to OG (as the others), but managed to change things up quite early and still kept the real, genuine, authentic vibe of Skam. Also love the soundtrack, the different spin on the stories, the characters and their dynamics and how they gave some characters even more depth. This version has some of my fav characters in Skam universe. Druck Season 2 is my fav Season 2 in general (liked it even more than the OG) and I love what they did with Season 3 - def my favorite Season 3 remake. Hope there will be reactions to Druck someday. It for sure will be worth watching the whole series here. It won't be boring or repetitive.

I feel like this finale was definitely setting up a Vilde season 5.. which I would have loved to see... I also would have enjoyed seeing a Even prequel where we saw when he first fell in love with the guy in Sana's brother friend group and seeing him deal with his bipolar disorder.

And I think now after watvhing the finale witth you, that Yousef will marry Sana. He sent her the picture inside of Hagia Sofia mosque in Istanbul and said, he will take her there one day. It could mean -" we will get married there one day" Don`t you think so?

I think they were giving her a bit of time to explore some things that had already hinted at, similarly with Jonas as well. But they had already decided on only four seasons by the time this season was in production.

Not sure if this is the right place, but since you brought it up in the intro: I would LOVE if you guys reacted to Half Bad: The Bastard Son and the Devil Himself! It's on Netflix, tragically only got one season, and it's been living rent free in my head for YEARS.

It is really cool to see the butterfly effect in the episode!! 1. Sana writes a message to Vilde and invites her to Eid 2. That makes Vilde call Eva because she wants to do something nice for Sana 3. It gives penetrator Chris the idea to do something nice for Eva, and asks Jonas for advice 4. Jonas realizes that Eva has moved on, and gets the courage to go more public with Emma 5. Emma then goes to the girls asking if they are going to eid. Thats when Eva says "We must take care of each other". That makes Chris think of Vilde and goes to the school doctor 6. Chris takes the advice from the school doctor and gives it to Even, who is unsure that he is a good enough boyfriend 7. After Isak and Even gets harrased on the street, Isak texts Noora that the speech should mention how strong Sana is, because of all the bullshit she has to take from others 8. Noora being kind of distant on the phone with Linn, makes Linn open up to Eskild

Julian Dahl. Think back to S1, the tram scene with Eva, Jonas and Isak. Isak is looking at his Instagram and comments about a guy called Julian Dahl stalking him. Julian Dahl was a fellow student of Tarjei's at Hartvig Nissen who interacted with every social media post of the characters in the first few episodes. So, Julie Andem decided to write him into the script - and his name regularly crops up throughout. It's just one of the ways that she acknowledged the fans throughout the show. For example, the scene at the start of S4 with Sana walking up to the Boy Squard by the van - that came from a piece of fan art, even the clothes were the same, same colour, etc. The fan art existed before the scene.

Also, the original script has many scenes that were not filmed. A pre-scene for S3 with Even being transfixed on seeing an angry boy "screaming into his phone" in the school yard on the first day of school: Isak. And also an epilogue scene where Even takes Isak to meet his parents and we learn about Even's aunt, who was just a few years older than Even and had bi-polar disorder, and took her own life.... All in the script; never filmed.

Druck and SRAM are the best remakes !! France s3 is pretty popular bc it’s a very romanticized/dramatic version (imo) but still good in its own way. It prob has the least skam feel to it though. also would love to see wtfock, they tackle a lot more serious topics the og didn’t.

Some context for the moment between penetrator Chris and Emma. When the skam website was live chris asked William in a text, how do you know that you love someone. William replied; og you know you know or something like that. Insinuating that chris was not sure about his feelings. But then he saw Emma he was sure . Or something like that

I'm sure there is some subtext, but I don't know if it's that straightforward. At the time the series came out (in 2017), Hagia Sofia wasn't a working mosque - officially it was a secular museum (and had been for decades). However, moves were perhaps already under way towards its eventual redesignation as a mosque again (in 2020). Originally (many centuries ago) the building had also been a Byzantine cathedral - so perhaps it's a perfect encapsulation of their complicated relationship with religion?

Some extra context that you miss out on by not watching the show as it was going on is that Eva and Jonas had just recently hooked up. Her and Penetrator Chris were hooking up and Jonas and Emma were too, but Eva and Jonas recently slept together. That’s why Jonas was kind of hesitant about “helping” Chris (because he obviously still had feelings for Eva) UNTIL Vilde said she thinks Eva might be a little in love with Chris and then Jonas decided to help him, and then invites Emma to the EID party. With the added context, it also kind of explains why Eva was brushing Chris wanting to be in a relationship off during his clip. I think she also knew she still had feelings for Jonas, which is why neither of them really cared about Emma and Chris having their love at first sight moment.

It was in texts. Skam was a real time format show that combined clips released in real time, social media posts by the characters, and off-screen text messages that would be posted to the show’s website. The show was “complete” enough to where you could just watch the episodes as they are by themselves, but it was so much better following it along in real time because the addition of the texts in between clips created a much fuller picture of what was going on with everyone at the time.
