I love this episode! Their all-day date was so natural and real. And I love Richie as a character. PFLAG stands for Parents and Friends of Lesbians and Gays and it's an organization for parents with queer kids. You guys are too young to know this, but at any Gay Pride parade from the 70s through the 00s, the parents marching under the PFLAG banner always got the biggest, loudest cheer of the parade, and queer people watching the parade would often be in tears as they passed by--it was so rare to have parents openly supporting their gay children that it was really quite moving to see them march. PFLAG does still exist, and they still march, but it is thankfully no longer such a rarity to have parents show support for their LGBTQ kids.

I love this episode. In both seasons, Episode 5 was my favorite. This episode feels so real and so intimate in a way many shows like this do not. Patrick's Nervous Nellie thing can get bonkers sometimes, though. I love that Richie both tests him and calms him.

I wonder if they have the lines fully written or do they figure out on the go. Their conversation and lingual pace sounds so natural. Hard to imagine they would be reciting script. Maybe they just have some guidelines how the scene goes and they let it flow?

Like others, this is my favorite episode of the season. I absolutely love Richie. And I think the title of the episode is a nod to who the writer(s) think "Pato" belongs with. This episode absolutely melts me. I love them as a couple. Patrick seems able to relax and be more true to himself with Richie. He's still a bit awkward and anxious and stumbles into saying dumb things but Richie seems to find that charming and is definitely willing to help him through it. And at the same time, "Pato" brings out and challenges Richie to face himself in ways that seem to be rare for Richie. They balance each other in beautiful ways. And the script and the actors feel so utterly natural -- I love the episode and I love them together!!!!!!!!!!!
