The darkness is full of things that don't belong in the light. Some lurk in the shadows, others hide in plain sight, and a few might even be living among you without anyone noticing. This week, we're exploring the stranger side of the night, where perception can be more valuable than sight and even a simple stroll through the market might cost you more than gold.

Also, just let us all politely ignore the fact that I am a day late with posting, okay...? ;-)

  • Monsters (with variants): Tenebrous Ooze (CR 2), Shadow Mimic (CR 7), Light Eater (CR 19)

  • Item: Liquid Nocturne - eye drops that rob you of your vision to awaken your perception (rare)

  • Feat: Superior Darkvision - a feat that ensures your gaze pierces the darkest of nights

  • NPC: The Veiled Broker - A mysterious network of successors who maintain the identity of a single shadow broker while trading secrets across distant lands.

  • Encounter: Night Market (any APL) - Where the night hides a market beyond reality, anything can be bought… at a hefty price.

Surely, you can guess what takes the highlight this week, right? You know I have a thing for mimics... But what I love about the shadow mimic is the concept that it can actually live among other creatures. It might not make a good spy (it's a little hard to stay inconspicuous when your voice comes from your feet and the lips of the person you're controlling never move), but it could still become part of a community. Just imagine the old, grumpy dock worker who never talks to anyone, keeps to himself, and has somehow held the same job for decades. Or just throw in a goblin tribe and give your low-level players a "good" time, who am I to judge?

More content is added every week - and past drops continue to expand with VTT support.
