I absolutely LOVE this musical and this performance of it. Glad you two enjoyed!!

It’s interesting the cross section of musicals you got with your picks. To compare the production of the original stage musicals to how you would classify a movie. Little Shop was an up and coming writers first show that was low budget but showed potential. Rocky Horror was like the indie film that only became popular as it got cult classic status over the years. Sweeney Todd was the big budget blockbuster made by the Spielberg or Scorsese equivalent in the musical theater world. It was expected to be and it was a huge success. I hope you try some other musicals in the future. Now that we know what you like we can guide you to one’s you don’t hate. Hairspray and the new version of West Side Story where you have a movie version of a musical by the writer of Sweeney Todd actually directed by Spielberg are two examples that come to mind. Thanks for doing the musical week. This was a lot of fun.

I highly recommend Grease for your next musical reaction. Also Elvis [2022] is a great film

Sweeney Todd, Grease, The Wizard Of Oz, and Willy Wonka And The Chocolate Factory are the 4 greatest musicals.

Hey guys. If you’re interested in another Tim Burton/Johnny Depp collaboration you may want to check out Alice In Wonderland. We all know that story but with Burton’s touch and Depp’s talent, it’s even more gnarly than the Disney original.
