When Wednesday waged war against the other families, the police department was encouraged NOT to interfere. However, many reckless decisions led both of them to collide, and it was inevitable for Wednesday and Enid to bump into each other in the crossfire. Enid was mad at Wednesday for being secretive about her past and super dismissive of their relationship, as Wednesday saw it as just a physical transaction and nothing more. Of course, Wednesday was emotionally constipated during this time. Not only was she dealing with the responsibilities of being a Dona, and the guilt she felt for her father's current condition, but she was also forced to confront her own feelings for Enid.

But as an Addams, Wednesday prioritized her family before anything else. This led to many sleepless nights during her time as Dona. Safe to say that she was miserable the entire time. And it was the kind of misery that neither she nor the family enjoyed. Morticia was sort of aware of her daughter's 'love life' (thanks to Larissa and a couple of people in the precinct), so when the war ended, she asked Pugsley to bring Enid to the manor to somehow end Wednesday's misery.

By this point, Gomez woke up from his coma and had resumed being Don again. But due to his condition, Wednesday insisted on acting as unofficial second in command. Fast forward, Enid met the family with Pugsley's assistance. You know the rest. Enid became the family's new favorite person. Wednesday and Enid reconciled by having way too much gay sex in Wednesday's old room for a week, much to Pubert's disgust.
