Is there a quick and easy way to remove the auto-translate? I read Japanese and while I prefer an English interface, the game is easier to understand with the original Japanese compared to machine translation.

Yes, just remove the contents of the BepInEx/Translation folder and go to the BepInEx/config folder, open the AutoTranslatorConfig.ini and remove the GoogleTranslate from the first part.

Sorry, one more question while I'm at it. How complicated is it to replace some of the translations? The above instructions worked, but now the interface has defaulted to some fallback manual translation (looks like auto translation results saved in some file perhaps?) which is actually worse than the auto translation. It would take me all of five minutes to replace the text in the UI of the creator for instance, I just wouldn't know what to change in terms of game files.

The autotranslate is saved in BepInEx/translation, so if you deleted the contents of that folder it shouldn't appear... It's late where I'm at, so can't really now, but I can update my vanillify script to simplify a full TL cleanup tomorrow, contact me on discord and I'll send it to you there 🙂

But actually I could just keep the auto generated file and edit it myself as a quick and dirty solution, which is basically what I'm after for the time being, so I'll just do that.
