Progress Report #62 - Cooking, Event Sheet, Poll etc. (Patreon)
Content
Hey lads!
Firstly, thanks a lot for an amazing number of 240 patrons! You made my day and motivated me as hell! There's also much bigger participation in a recent poll, posts etc., when compared to the old ones. So seeing more people engaged and interested in the project really put a smile on my face. Thanks!
Now that I've mentioned poll, despite it not ending yet, I believe that pregnancy as a winner was pretty obvious, but I didn't expect metro to make it to the 2nd place. That surprised me dearly, you pervs. Thus you can most likely expect pregnancy feature appearing in v0.27 in May. Regarding other content, let's wait for the poll to end, first, but I should have enough time to also put in v0.26 something that takes 2nd place.
Ok, regarding new content for v0.26 - main feature will be cooking skill (1st screenshot). It will be really simple and straightforward, so nothing as complex as crafting in RPG/survival games. There will be 5 cooking levels (perks), and the more you cook, better the recipes. So based on your cooking skill, you will get to cook food in 5 quality types - poor, average, good, great, excellent. Food restores between 10-60% of max energy and provides Well-Fed buff for 1-5 hours. There's no hunger bar and begging for food (yet), but you can't eat, if you already have Well-Fed buff active (small anti-cheese prevention tool, for Jane's own health). Cooking is really simple - you buy ingredients from the local shop, click on the fridge in your kitchen (or use Joseph's, if you are homeless) and choose food quality to create, and that's it. Higher cooking skill also unlocks recipes for lewdness & charm boosting food. And in the future it will get more sophisticated or unique recipes, but that's it for this update. You have to cook X times to gain new cooking level. Oh, and working at Kevin's Diner also has a chance of increasing cooking skill, based on how hard you work.
For this update I want to improve Event Sheet a bit. For now I'll add search button and swap "Hidden Requirements" with "Extra" explaining stuff manually (as you can see on the 2nd screenshot). Searching is case insensitive, so if you write "ben" instead of "Ben" it will work, but "be n" won't show you any Ben's events. And in "Extra" info I'll have to go through all existing events and write what more you need to do in order to unlock the event. In most cases they are really simple and obvious, like "Ben is a flatmate" or "it's Jane's shift at Kevin's Diner", so it's not like I was hiding some really important info from you. In v0.27 I want to further improve Event Sheet tool to make it more readable and useful, so please give me your thoughts and ideas on how to do that. You will be the ones using it after all! Wherever is fine, be it Patreon or Discord, but please don't do it in private messages.
Ok, now to the art. I won't be hiding that my artist, Peter, is slacking lately due to him changing job, and while UotW never was his top priority, now it dropped even lower on his list. That's why art-wise we are behind the schedule as hell, and in the May I'm gonna look for the new main artist. We did a few small tweaks, like fixed straps on bras and aligned some shirts with the body (3rd screenshot), so it's not much, I know, but he promised to do more for this update, so we will see.
Regarding new sex content, there will be event for Gym & Slums after falling down, so 2 in total. I plan more, but at least these 2 should appear without a fail, since I'm already working on them.
Oh, last, but not least important, I fixed my custom tool for building & uploading the game, so yet again it takes me only one click, instead of around 2 hours of manual clicking and watching over the whole process. So expect quick updates with bug fixes again!
I'm pretty sure that I can't do everything that I've planned for v0.26 still in April, so expect some of its content to appear in the early May.
Thanks for reading!
Cheers!
