Does this unit have a soul? Mass Effect reference, but it works. The clones aren't Just clones, they're people, and what the Republic does to them (because it's still the Republic for most of it) absolutely destroys all the Republic's moral authority. Millions of people bred to die. Way, way worse than the vast majority of battle droids that can't think or feel with anything like the clones' sophistication. (Artoo, by virtue of a memory that is not wiped and learning programming he already possesses, develops something like sentience. Other older droids can do the same, but most droids don't.) The clones aren't citizens. They can't leave the military. I don't know if they even get paid. It is monstrous that they are expected to fight and die for a government that gives them little to no rights. The FIRST thing the Jedi should have done on discovering the creation of the clones was petition the Republic to immediately slap Kamino with the worst sanctions possible if they don't outright go to war, then develop a massive movement to find the clones a homeworld, senate representation, and reproductive options. Instead, they used the clones because the Separatists had the droids, which made things so much easier for Palpatine with Anakin. When the Jedi and the Republic do things like that, you CANNOT say the Jedi and the Republic are still good. They aren't. But clones turning on their brothers isn't good either. I smiled when you called out Ani's face with Obi-Wan and Ventress having their thing. I wonder how he felt growing up with Obi-Wan with stuff like this happening all the time. It must have been annoying.

This episode takes place before the Clone Wars movie. Chronologically, this is the second episode in the entire series. The movie takes place immediately after. This means Anakin hasn’t met Ahsoka yet at this point. Also, Rex is pretty much *the* main clone trooper. Also, yeah, the clones do look alike, but Cody has a distinct scar over his right eye.
