Everyone went nuts for Boba Fett from the original trilogy. I personally don't get it. To me, he was a generic, boring bounty hunter with like two lines, who then got thrown into a Sarlacc pit. Whatever. End of story. But he had FANS, and the community got busy. As a result, Mandalorians and Mandalorian culture is probably the most fleshed out part of Star Wars lore aside from the Jedi themselves. You can find out all about the Mandalore-Concord Dawn history, Jango Fett's past, and the clone troopers' Mandalorian subculture if you look. The titular Mandalorian from the show is Din Djarin, a bounty hunter alive and active during the time between the original and sequel trilogy, and thus decades after this episode of the Clone Wars is set. Mandalorian culture in general has developed in fascinating ways over the years Star Wars has been working on it. It's an amazing history all through, and I love what the fandom did with it. Satine's folk are New Mandalorians, and the pacifism thing is similarly new. Pre Vizla's Death Watch have a point about getting back to their cultural roots, but obviously, there's some debate over the appropriateness about the whole terrorism angle. I do urge you to find out more about Mandalorian culture in the universe. It's pretty interesting research. As for Satine, I'm not completely sure she was named for a prominent character in another movie Ewan McGregor also starred in. But she reminds me very much of that character and that movie, and so the Satine episodes of Clone Wars are the reason it occurred to me that the prequels would make an awesome musical, to the point where I actually wrote a couple songs back during my first time in grad school. It never went anywhere. But I still think you could compress a lot of Episode II and III into a pretty awesome musical that would turn melodramatic moments kinda hard to stomach straight into breathtaking ballads and dance numbers. When the emotion is over the top, sing it. Ewan McGregor could even play his part. He's fantastic. And I would love for Obi-Wan to sing.
