Honestly, I enjoyed this game A LOT and I've been playing DA since DAO launched in 2009. Give it time to breathe but I also think that letting it sit for a while till the next ep comes out also takes away the momentum. No spoilers but the Taash arc is BEAUTIFUL. All I can say is that Act I is a tad slow re: buildup but once you reach a certain MAJOR QUEST leading into Act II the momentum picks up and leads to an UNFORGETTABLE ACT III which imo even surpasses ME2's suicide mission. Again, give it a chance to blossom, it IS a different story but God, it is a GREAT ONE. That's my opinion, anyway.

I enjoyed Veilguard...at least until I got the art book and saw what it was supposed to be before it was reset 1.5 times (from Joplin to Morrison and then from live-service to non) and then you begin to see the cracks of what could have been. It doesn't help that Bioware totally laid off the writers (lncluding Trick Weekes who also wrong the Tuchunka and Rannoch plots in ME3 plus Solas himself and Mary Kirby who wrote Varric) so EA (Bioware?) aren't doing themselves favors. Mark Darrah has a Youtube channel where he actually kinda ripped into EA and Bioware for the development of Veilguard...I am definitely looking forward to more stuff coming out about how the writing was going behind the scenes. Since a ten year development cycle and the resets...and EA mismanaging everything...which might actually be why Taash' identity seems "sudden". After multiple playthroughs, their story is odd in the way Bioware implemented it into the game. Like they wrote it, rewrote it, cut stuff, wrote more stuff and tried their best to put it back into the game that makes sense narratively. Taash is also written by Trick Weekes who is non-binary.
