I Haven't Felt Like This Since The Original... | Life Is Strange: Reunion (Ending)

In this first-time playthrough of Life is Strange Reunion, we’re breaking down the story, characters, emotional atmosphere, nostalgia, writing, choices, and why the original Life is Strange connected so deeply with so many people in the first place — and whether Reunion actually captures that feeling again. I’ve played all of the Life Is Strange games and Lost Records, and honestly... I never particularly liked Safi either. But hearing you break down her behaviour made me properly realise just how frustrating she actually was. Apparently I had been storing some of that irritation in a quiet little corner of my brain and politely refusing to examine it. Double Exposure was such an unbelievable low point for the series that, compared with it, Reunion felt like exactly the ending Max and Chloe deserved. It definitely wasn’t a perfect game, but it rescued almost everything that could still be rescued after DE. The dialogue felt much more natural, and there were genuinely emotional moments that reminded me why I became so attached to these characters in the first place. If Max’s story had ended with Double Exposure, I think I would have stayed angry about it for a very long time. Now I’m mostly just... emotional. We’ve travelled such a long road with Max and Chloe, through all the timelines, impossible decisions and emotional damage, and now it finally feels like the right moment to say goodbye. Which is sad, obviously. But it also feels peaceful in a way I didn’t expect. I’m also one of those painfully thorough players who has to turn over every stone, inspect every corner and, apparently, investigate every pine cone in Oregon. So nobody died in the fire during my playthrough either, and I’m quietly very proud of that. Your reaction playthroughs are always such a joy to watch. You’re genuinely funny, but you also examine the stories and characters with so much care. You regularly point out details, motivations and emotional layers that I completely missed while playing, even though I thought I had been paying attention. Rude of you to expose my observational failures like that, but also genuinely appreciated. I’m really looking forward to your Red Dead Redemption 2 playthrough. It’s going to be quite a long journey, though, so I’d love it if you eventually started True Colors or Lost Records alongside it at some point. I’m especially curious to see what you think of their characters and relationships, because I already know you’ll notice about seventeen things that went completely over my head. Anyway, thank you for another wonderful playthrough. This one felt like the end of a very long chapter, and I’m glad I got to experience that ending again through your reactions.
