Everyone in the galaxy needs to love like Shmi (and eventually, Luke Skywalker, though even he can't manage it all the time). You have to love with an open hand, without insecurity, without clutching at it. Without possession. With trust. Ahsoka can want all the best for Anakin, but she can't let that freeze her up when he's in trouble. Anakin can take joy and comfort in Padmé, but not to the extent he would burn the galaxy around them down to keep her. It's a hard, hard thing, to love without fear or selfishness. Re: the extreme pacifism shown by the Lurmen here—it's a choice that has to be respected, but it can also be hard to understand. People who have made it in our history have been subject to discrimination and even torture by entities that wanted them to fight. Personally, I cannot say that there is nothing worth killing for. I do, however, believe there is something in the inherent hypocrisy of "keeping peace" at the point of a sword.

A major theme in this show is the humanity of the clones and how they are created for the sole purpose of being expendable. And they are created by the "good guys" The seeds of the empire and how it uses people and throws them away is already present in the Republic. Then there are the Jedi who at the start of the war took on roles as generals and soldiers and lead these expendable men to their deaths. The Jedi did not attempt a nonviolent end to the separatist crisis. Although everything is a lot more complicated since palpatine is pulling the strings. Had palpatine not been positioning the separatists as the "villains" in his plans to turn the Republic into the empire then the republic and the Jedi's role in it would be much more morally questionable. It is also ironic that ultimately it didn't matter all the violence on both sides served palpatine alone.
