NH1 vs Sonos Ace (Patreon)

Keep in mind that sound samples are only an approximation of the real thing. I checked all recorded headphones against their recordings and they sound very alike in most cases, but there are headphones that record themselves more different than what they sound. But those usually do not sound "correct" to begin with. Still I hope this can give you some idea about the colorations that I perceive with the NH1 taken as the most uncolored reference. Someone else may perceive all these headphones completely different.

Recorded was the best black unit that I got, I think it sounds slightly worse than my beige unit, which was the unit I tuned, but the black unit has better channel matching. I still cannot predict how big the overall variation will be, but at least 2 of my units sound very similar to each other.

NH1 is playing with it's flat EQ, the Sonos with bass and treble at default. I personally think that it would sound better with bass completely reduced and treble completely turned up.
