VIFA Copenhagen 2.0 & Earfun UBoom X - listening session (Patreon)

After some years I finally have the chance to listen to the VIFA Copenhagen 2.0 again thanks to Matthias who sent me his unit.

I would like to use the VIFA as reference for some possible improvements but so far I already perceive the Earfun as more convincing sounding to be honest. What surprised me is the high maximum loudness of the Copenhagen although it loses most of its bass at these levels.

Let me know what you think and what you like more from the VIFA which I could try simulating for the Earfun.

Vifa Coppenhagen ein sehr schöner und wunderbar neutraler Lautsprecher. Ich habe Ihn in angenehmer Erinnerung. Gut für indoor. Für outdoor viel zu schade. Ich hatte den Coppenhagen und den Stockholm. Am besten fand ich beide im Setting neutral. Alles soll so klingen wie es im original klingt ganz egal was abgespielt wird

Ich hab mittlerweile beide exakt gleich aufgenommen und finde den Earfun doch deutlich neutraler und näher an der Origibalaufnahme. Werde aber versuchen das noch zu verbessern, vielleicht klingen die neueren Geräte auch etwas anders, ich werde mir eins besorgen und das auch austesten und entsprechend meine Einstellungen anpassen.

Hallo Oluv, ich hab den Earfun seit gestern und bin begeistert. Habe die Firmware 0.41 drauf. Gibt es da klangliche Unterschiede zur 0.39 ? Oder ist das egal. Viele Grüße und danke

Achja und ich vermisse den Desktop Mode den ich bei dir in Videos gesehen hatte. Das hätte ich doch ganz gut gefunden. Schade das es fehlt.

Copenhagen has a bit more linear bass it seems, has a nice kick to it, nice power this ATTACK! Which earfun a bit lacks, also mids are smoother from copenhagen not as hollow as on the earfun which with this stereo processing gets some narrow boost in 300hz

Yea, Vifa would really need to be in the Late Night setting to sound comparable at lower and normal volumes. I also remember that in your original video, you immediately switched it to late night and left it like that till the end. Maximum volume comparison is interesting as it shows that Earfun is boosted in treble and sounds a bit pushed in the outdoor modes which is suitable for ground placement, do I remember correctly that Studio mode is similarly loud but sounds more normal?

Hello. I asked on the HK Go + 3 video and i will ask here maybe you will reply: do you have in plan to test the Sonos Move 2 since it has bluetooth and can be used without Sonos ecosystem? With Trueplay and loudnes enabled from volume 1 to 5 lets say it sounds way fuller than any bluetooth speaker i have tested including Uboom X. Thanks!

I wonder if the Uboom X could even compete with the Stockholm 2.0 at low and regular listening levels. Do you still have it or did you sell it?

I sold it long ago, it was nice due to the width you had the impression to listen to 2 separate speakers, but in the end there were cheaper better sounding solutions

What means fuller? More bass? Go+play is already way too bassy

Like more hi-fi sound not boomy bass. And about the bass i like that Sonos Move 2 is a closed box design so no passive radiators and this translates in better quality drivers and better controlled bass response.

Ich nutze meinen Copenhagen outdoor nur beim Grillen mit absolute Safe Standing. Für alles andere ist er Outdoor viel zu Schade.

No the bass from the Copenhagen is all over the place, a dip there some boost here, the frequency response overall is maybe the worst from all VIFA speakers I have owned. The smoothest overall was the Helsinki.

Laws of physics you can't bend. Sound quality / spl / sub bass.. there is only so much you can do with closed small box

The power of DSP tell you something? :) I know there will be limitations but there are plenty of speakers that sound too good to be true with a very good implemented dsp.

Ich höre überwiegend im Studiomodus und habe beide Versionen verglichen. Der Unterschied zwischen der Version 0.39 und 0.41 im Studiomodus ist recht deutlich. Wobei ich die Version 0.41 als deutlich schlechter empfinde.
