UBoom X - best custom EQ by a professional audio engineer (Patreon)
Content
First of all the UBoom X is not really savable with any custom EQ and I had severe issues getting it more or less usable despite the much more flexible DSP filters not even considering the sample variation between units, but there has been some smartass around together with his audio engineer friend who is trying to downgrade my attempts how bad they were, while trying to praise some weird sounding EQs as being the holy grail for the UBoom X.
As his postings became more and more aggressive I decided to put his super duper EQs settings side by side against my indoor mode which is supposed to sound close to neutral with the addition of some dynamic bass and treble adjustment depending on the listening level and some subtle stereo enhancing to avoid the typical mono character of a single cabinet speaker like the UBoom X.
Although the given custom EQ is definitely an improvement over Earfun‘s stock setting it’s way too bassheavy with some one-note bass that tends to play along the music.
Below you can see a measurement of my indoor mode in white and the demoed custom EQ in blue, measured from the listening position like in the video:
So for those seeking the“ highest possible sound quality“ for the UBoom X feel free to try out these EQ settings created by a professional audio engineer, keep in mind I am just some amateur and never claimed to be professional or something.
