I wanted to demonstrate how the NH1n will sound against my speakers and have included the Neumann KH80 and the Nupro XS-3000RC for comparison.

Unlike mentioned in the video I used exactly the same compensation for my recording with both speakers and the headphone. Although I think my compensation for capturing headphones renders those a bit more realistic in this case using the same compensation for both makes them more comparable and more similar sounding. But recordings will always differ from the experience when you hear them live, this here should just be a rough sketch to give you some idea about the sound signature.

I also think that headphones are captured more bassy with my microphones than they actually are, I noticed this particularly with the HD58X. I will verify that the in-room mode is not too bassy compared to the speakers before settling for the final tuning.

I also played around with the boombox tuning lately and I think it will sound really great for those who prefer alotta bass, but it will be still listenable, I just added some extra punch below 100hz and more clarity compared to in-room for a more V-shaped sound signature.

The sound stage can be adjust with DSP?

oluvsgadgets

Not really, it’s usually just a matter of a different frequency response.

brex14

That's interesting.

Listening to the recordings through my headphones, the more relaxing, balanced, and easy listening (less energetic on the high frequencies) was the "in-room" option. Which also sounded close to the sweet-spot-to-the-speakers-in-the-room experience. The "neutral" setting sounds through my headphones with a bit more energy focus on the "highs", compared to "in-room". Anyway, the current outcomes sound already great! And as everything Oluv's done since the Soundcore Q30 days, I will support this initiative as well. Also, having a choice of black and white option would even force me to buy 2 pairs: for me and my wife ;-)

its always a joy to hear you talk about accurate sound, I remember when you made the earful 2 tuning I remembered I enjoyed those even more than my hd600 with no eq, these days I've moved a bit from headphones and been looking more at speakers still planing on buying another pair of hd600 and applying your eq since im really curious, do you have any speaker recommendation at 500 or lower?I wanna put them in my living room not to big about 4x5m kinda medium

Apologies as I may have missed / answered elsewhere - but when could we possibly purchase?

Great ! You could also let your Son have a listen as he has most likely the best / unaltered / undmaged high frequency hearing ability of all of us together and incorporate it with your results to get a median between those two pairs of ears.

Check out his previous video for more info.

Wow, this was so good, your explanation starting from the fifth minute of the video. You showing us with pink noise, some examples, it's crazy, nobody else does this on YouTube. Please continue to provide us technical explanations short and to the point, I love it.
