Here it is the successor of the micro "king". Let's check if generation 3 improved even more and deserves being crowned as new king of pocketsized micro speakers.

I honestly don’t understand what the engineers are smoking, or whether there are simply none left, that a newer product ends up being worse than the previous one. Does nobody care anymore about how it actually sounds—only how long the battery lasts and how it looks? The Soundcore Boom Go 3i turned out to be complete nonsense, and now the Micro 3 is also definitely not what was expected. Not even mentioning JBL’s failure with the Boombox 4. I’m really curious whether the Xtreme 5 will end up being the same kind of distortion “champion” once you go past 60–70% volume. I bought the Soundcore Go 3i a bit before Oluv released his review, and after realizing what kind of crap it was, I absolutely trashed it on Amazon.de. A Soundcore representative even contacted me afterward and refunded my money, while telling me to keep the Go 3i. As for the Micro 3, it seems they again tried to target the teenage crowd—where the more the speaker “farts,” the better. You can clearly hear that knocking sound again, which basically means the driver is hitting its excursion limits—the suspension is just stretching to the max. In short, I really don’t understand where this world is heading 🙂

Maybe at least the knocking could be fixed with better limiting but the treble will remain grainy and resonant

I also think its pretty bad sounding, its nicely bassy but yuck the treble is just sizzle

Dang, that's disappointing. Hopefully they release an update to fix this horrible sound. The new drivers definitely helped with sound dispersion, but they went too far with the overall tuning. Its like Maxsound Plus vs Plus 2 all over again

I don't think that my custom EQ improves the sound a lot.

They have to make a worse product to bring out a better one. Thats how EVERY company works or else they would never sell anything anymore.

They can maybe improve the bass distortion although it will probably lose any advantage it has over the old one but the treble will remain grainy as this is apparently th resonance of the driver. Maybe there is some sample variation with other units peaking higher which could improve the sound.

Also got contacted for a refund from Tribit after my Amazon review, which wasn’t even that bad, 3 stars.

I am hoping for a new firmware with audio improvements and I'm noticing some delay on lip sync with videos in OSX too. Hardware wise this seems like a cool speaker - I was curious getting it - not completely happy yet with it soundwise. Keeping my fingers crossed haha
