Like the idea of recommending a reference headphone for patreons. Never thought to see you with a phone without headphone jack ;-)

Andriko Mata

Tribit Stormbox Pro is out in some asian countries and can already be bought on ebay. This one would be interesting. Keept it up Oluv. Peace

oluvsgadgets

I said in the video that it's stuck at the customs since last year.

Salar Sayyad

"Baby Empyrean" sounds very interesting!

Artiom Ištuganov

Oluv, I remember you saying that you're done with earbuds. But maybe there would be a good idea "testing out" some of them. Like Soundcore Liberty Air 2 Pro and giving your opinion on them? After buying Q30's with ANC I don't want to spend alot of money on Sony's like WF-1000X Or maybe you can recomend some resources where I can research this topic more? Thanks and keep it up. You're great and honest "reviewer" (yeah, I know you're technicaly not a reviewer)

oluvsgadgets

I also bought a lightning-3.5mm adapter which seems to work pretty fine with my ER2XR. I had some cheap 3rd party one which was horrible, lots of hiss, lots of interference, but the original one from Apple is really Ok.

Thomas Ly

Hi Oluv, thanks to you I’ve bought the Q30, Lypertek, and Tribit mini. Your opinion is highly valued. Much appreciated.

Patrik Boström

I'm curious what you would think of the Dali IO-6 headphones. Not the best ANC, but the sound is amazing i think.

tollph3

HiOluv ,could you please sometimes play metal/rock tracks in sound demos here on patreon ? If so i can recomend one instrumental metal band Deaf Election they should be on apple music also as spotify.

oluvsgadgets

I am getting aggressive if I have to listen to that, sorry but I cannot stand it

Kai Kuklok

Are there plans to review the newly released Soundcore Liberty Air 2 Pro? They are discounted right now to 80€

oluvsgadgets

I had a listen and thanks to being purely instrumental the tracks are actually not that bad, thanks for that. I will try playing something in the next review.

tollph3

great to hear that ,i also suggest checking out band called: Tool ,they have very unusual and interesting "sound" to them .

Kai Kuklok

That's disappointing, but reasonable. So I would agree that if they will send it to you, they are an option to consider reviewing, otherwise not.

Why buy iphone when there is a current flagship with headphone jack from sony - xperia 5 ii. In some markets it comes even bundled with the wf-1000xm3 'for free'. Xperia phones had stereo speakers, stereo mics, steadyshot, waterproofness and surround sound effects (which you liked on the airpod max) but system wide for all output devices...all features since around 2013(!!) iphones had none of them for a long time. But somehow still everyone is buying apple products. Paying more and getting less. I don't want to criticize anyone for their purchase decisions though, just a few facts from a tech (and audio) guy's perspective.

oluvsgadgets

I had Android devices and they felt like some buggy Windows 95 installation

oluvsgadgets

Maybe they can become usable with some EQ adjustment. The Liberty 2 Pro had an EQ but the whole response was screwed up so much that even the built in EQ couldn’t quite fix it

Kai Kuklok

Yeah that‘s my hope, as I already ordered them.

Back in 2010 to 2013 era that was true and had its reasons (they prioritized multitasking above UI animations and so on..) but nowadays with Android 10 and 11 thats quite past and rather subjective. The 90 or 120hz displays on todays Androids even feel snappier and smoother than current iphones, even on a midranger like the Realme 6 Pro for example. But it has to be a phone with at least a snapdragon 720 or above (cpu) - you can't expect a sub $150 Android phone to perform as well as a $700 and up flagship. (I avoid mediatek and midrange exynos cpu equipped phones like the plague; they really can get buggy or slow) I don't know which Android phone you had, but Xperia phones reportedly have the lowest crash rates in the Android world. Also, they win each year in app and web loading time speedtests against iphones.

Speaking of the iPhone 12 mini, have you revisited the Jaybird Freedom/X4 recently? Because Bluetooth connectivity may possibly be improved with newer phones, as I have the Jaybird X3 and when I had a samsung galaxy s8, I had Bluetooth connectivity issues with them but then when I upgraded to the Samsung galaxy s10e, the connectivity on my X3s improved significantly and I now get far less Bluetooth dropouts with them and I'm actually using them again

oluvsgadgets

Not yet, but good idea to try them out again.

ToneDeafLoser

I've been recommending your videos like crazy on this very popular US site. LOL. Check it out. https://slickdeals.net Some might be from there and they are all relevant posts. Any headphone comparison video on the sennheisers, akg, bose, sony. i.e. popular headphones. No one does sound demo comparisons like you and you are most HONEST of all the reviewers so I had to refer them to your videos. They are well received and people are opening their eyes to what "good" headphones are.

oluvsgadgets

Maybe I should have switched to Android instead but I never understood their concept with those various screen layouts. I was iOS user since the very first iPhone thus I never really changed. I have many friends who switched back and forth but now are back on iOS again.

Its not really about one being better than thr other, depends on what you want, iOs just like their mac os consists of a more limited/controled software experience, basicly not only they can take care of your data but also your device, with that their devices can be faster with less (by looking on paper) specs and still give a away snappier experience. Android on the other hand is more open the experience and with that less controled, witch can cause obvious issues, but apple here also are not perfect they also tend to slow down your device after years and make sum excuse for issues or something, know what i am sayin?

Jose Santos

Though lots of ppl like iOs and tbh i am ok with it just like the way me and many for android and other things(well maybe less hwuaei tho) and oluv here i also find it ok for him to keep being ios becus not only u get used and by the time u notice it makes one experience much better but also here in audio iphones are also great and he doesn't need much more than the features he had since that iphone 6. Other than that is up to what he prefers.

Couldnt watch it completly...I contacted Tribit and zhey told me the Pro will be released on 21 January. I hope your unit will make it through the customs before that date. There was a guy who claimed it would play down to under 30hz what I doubt... Anyways, first Videos on YT are promising

Yes i was more talking about choices and features of smartphones in general and also about voting with our wallet: If a company starts such a stupid trend as removing a headphone jack just out of greedyness and to sell more new stuff - especially because there are still lots of people who want to use cabled headphones, especially audio guys like oluv. Why make it more complicated? It's like back in 2005 when every phone needed its own adapters.. Unfortunately it's often apple who starts such stupid anti consumer trends, hipsters will cheer it and apple users have to swallow it. Every single decision they make. In the android/windows world at least, you have a much more open market with less proprietary standards and more alternatives to choose from, you are not bound to one brand. Sadly, lots of android manufacturers follow these trends too, as an example, samsung removed the microSD slot this year. I get it, cloud storage is convenient and some dont need that much space, but not everyone wants it and not everywhere you have fast network.. At least sony is more traditional in this regard. I know that apple has its strong points too, everything in their ecosystem works nicely together. But for me that wouldnt be worth it. Well everyone has their reasons. Just you all people please don't blindly accept every stupid trend they make and keep an eye on all the possibilities to choose from - not just apple or samsung, not just jbl or bose ;)
