Had big luck with no wind at all yesterday morning and shot this before leaving for holidays. I hope it can reveal further differences between both models. Although the new one is definitely an improvement I like the old one more in some aspects. Let me know your thoughts.

Boomster vs Boomster - outdoors

could you compare the boomster 2021 to a minirig 2.1 or 2.2 system? thanks😄

Mister 13

Well the difference is less noticable at maximum volume They are more or less equally loud but the new one is a bit warmer and bassier but not much I agree with you that old one is smoother, it makes the music more relaxed while the new one sounds more like a monster beatbox with this slightly « scratchy » highs while being over the top (less balanced), i think it’s definitely an advantage for some outdoor party but for critical listening the Boomster NG is better It’s a mater of taste verdict, for maximum volume i like both : the old Boomster for: - its price/size/performance - its smoother highs for critical listening the new one for : -Party feeling (V shaped sound) -its bigger, warmer, cleaner bass -increased loudness with some song -its sound dispersion It would be interesting to compare those boomsters to the Klipsch kmc 3

Thanks for this comparison. Still I prefer the NG like I said before. For me it has the better overall tuning…. Matter of taste. The new Boomster is definetely not bad at all.

Good idea, I think especially the new Boomster could be interesting against the Klipsch. Just need to buy new batteries for it hahaha

Mister 13

Or the powerbank :)

Definitely I will try after my return from holidays

Nice video! Will recommend the new Boomster to my friends. I see there are some interesting new pocket speakers coming, H/K Neo and Diamondboxx 10TWS. Are those anything you are considering to have a look at?

Diamondboxx only sells in the USA. I wouldn’t have high hopes for the HK, their small speakers all sucked so far.

HK Neo is tuned almost neutral what means the frequency response is quite linear. But, and that's the point where probably most of you guys are out, it rolls off extremely steep from ~ 120 Hertz. Compared with a Tribit Stormbox Micro what plays down around 60 Herzt the HK Neo gives more details, more clarity - but sounds absolutely thin in the bass region. It's perfect in design and build quality and there's absolutely no delay on YouTube etc.. I can swim in water with driver upwards - if you like that. You can't pair two of them TWS. It has no adjustable strap but a flap what makes no sense for me. As you can see some advantages but also some negative aspects. I bought mine for ~32 Euro and I like it really much as a contrast to the Micro. The Neo sounds better in some scenarios but the Micro is the better allrounder over all. The Tribit Micro easily sounds twice as big as the Neo at bass heavy tracks, paired in TWS it's a complete different experience.
