Keep in mind that the sound samples are meant to just give you a general idea about the sound differences of both units. They were still recorded with my MiniDSP and a compensation I created some years ago when I started reviewing inears. The compensation back then was just made by ear listening to an Inear and comparing that sound to the compensated recording played back over the HD600, thus the result is not exact but rather a rough approximation. Although the general sound signature is captured well and you should be able to discern the differences between both inears, it’s not able to capture the finest details.

For my future recordings I would like to use my couplers together with the Earfun Free Pro for self referencing to get a more exact sound representation. This will mean that every other recorded IEM listened over the tuned Earfun Free Pro should sound pretty close to the actual thing, but a recording of the Earfun Free Pro will sound exactly like the original recording as it has to reproduce itself with a flat response.

I still have to figure out how to deal with the issue of shifting ear canal resonances, either I will record it with my own resonance which is 6500hz or with an average frequency which I will calculate over all provided values from you.

Grell Audio TWS/1 vs Earfun Free Pro

The Grell Audio sounds really off to me mostly in the highs. Also listening to the voice of the singers sounds much nicer on the Earfun. I love the natural sound of them even more after your new tuning Oluv. I'm glad to learn how I can find the perfect sound for me and I don't have to invest that much money. I have bought quite a bit of audio equipment searching for that sound. I'm glad to have become a patreon.

Hello , Oluv . where can i get Earfuns with Updated tuning , it sounds pretty correct .

Dandrey

I understand , but when running through phone it is not that easy . Still , is it posssible to buy anywhere the New Updated tuning variant ? Thank you .

oluvsgadgets

No I don’t offer any updated units as there were issues with shipping, defective units arriving etc, therefore I provide the option for everyone to update on their own

Dennis

You just need the Ethuast Level, then you get acces to these Videos how you can tune it. I still wait for mine Free Pro. and if its arrived i will take the Ethuast Level. really Cant wait for this. I cant hear junk Sound anymore Samsung galaxy Buds+ Really horrible i ordered a Free Pro for 38Euros on there Earfun Page + 10 Euros for Oluv i hope you will have Beast sound for less than 50 Euros lol and my Samsung already selled for 60Euros on Ebay.

Oluv, you need to work as a sound consultant for the biggest companies and make them stop to deliver shit for exaggerated prices. I am very happy with my earfuns regarding sound, but the hardware doesn´t make justice for that sound. The Grell doesn´t sound THAT bad but yours is way better.

oluvsgadgets

The big companies don’t give a shit about me, not even Earfun wants a real collaboration

oluvsgadgets

Holy shit I lost it after the first sentence

Dennis

Really Idiots you can Tune there Shit to next Level, but i think they dont care cause they will sell this Junk still without you... JBL kids will buy Bass Boosted stuff... Btw will you get in near Future the New Bose? und hope in November you will Test the Flip 6.

Christian Hinrichs

Thats because they do not care about music, but selling products, like most companies selling audio products.

Alejandro Garza

That tells you that you need to found your own company. I will support it :)

oluvsgadgets

No, it would cost 50.000-100.000$ to produce several thousand IEM units which would be technically worse than the Earfun. It just doesn’t pay off Then you need to pay for PR etc. You have no chance against the mass market companies even if your product sounded better

Dennis

True thats the problem. Not that Easy. Only good and possible way is to work with someone and offer your tuning and knowledge. Really cant understand why you cant work full for Earfun. Time for some new BT Speakers from there =) wish you the best hopefully something will come

I did some 11.11. shopping. bought few pairs of QKZ VK4 IEM's.

I think expensive boutique headphone producers like ZMF or Dan Clark can totally survive in a niche market and they aren't even well tuned. They started as headphone modders and then grew from there. People are always on the hunt for good sound. I think if Oluv would be 10 years younger it would be worth a shot :) I mean I would happily pay multiple 100 for any headphone tuned by Oluv rather than trying to hope the mainstream brands can deliver. Iam still waiting for a good ANC headphone, its nowhere to be found. I tried them all, Sony, Bose, Beyerdynamic Lagoon, nothing fully satisfied me. Beyerdynamic sounded the best of them but also too heavy and uncomfortable, horrible software, loud white noise in ANC. I stick to my wired headphones. Good ANC and good tuning doesnt seem to exist for over ear.
