Hi Oluv, I have the porta pro's and really like them. I usually use them with the ear studio ES100 bluetooth receiver, just wondering if you have recommended eq settings for the porta pros on the ES100

Ryan Feeley

I would love to hear the headphones recorded again with the new EQ. From what I understand, distortion characteristics across different frequencies vary widely from headphone to headphone. So while you can change the EQ of a headphone recording successfully, you might not be able to change the EQ of an actual headphone as perfectly.

Porta Pro is the only one I guessed...(btw I had to send back my Earfun pro 2 set...some of my eq settings burnt the firmware :D)

Good video - although I’m confused this seems like it would have been a good time to talk about the project you’re doing here and how you solve the issues you bring up in the video.

oluvsgadgets

I have no solution. I have ideas how it could be solved but I would need partners who are well established in this business.

Jeremy

I think what you’re providing here with the tunings is the solution. 😀 I’d love to get tuning for what you consider good wired headphones as well like the drop 58x and 4xx which I both have as well. We could use the Qudelix 5k for a mobile eq and the equalizer apo with peace gui for desktop.

The problem is the outer concha which has too much influence on the final response. What I will perceive as smooth will sound off to you.

Jeremy

I see. That’s ok we can work with wired iems as well I’m not picky. 😀

Oluv, you must admit that using IEM's and full-size over-ear headphones have different experience. I am not sure how to describe it but you can hear if the sound coming from inside your ears or all around you, and to me the larger the headphones - the more immersive sound it is.

Nice I liked b for more Soundstage in my opinion. And it's the closed back NC headphone. But I was slightly primed by the higher data rate of b.

Here comes a question: will you review Koss KPH40 and/or Sennheiser HD 400 Pro? I am unsure if I should save for HD 58X, decide to go with HD 400 Pro, or settle for now with KPH40. If the dip in the highs KPH30i has was corrected in the model revision, that's great. But if KPH40 is the same shit, I do not care. Then it will be 58X vs 400Pro. But I need someone to really measure the headphone, and I know that you do measurements.

oluvsgadgets

The Koss is not even the same league, but I don’t plan to review these any soon.

How does a Focal Elex or maybe a HD800s sounds compared to a Q30 with your EQ?
