Tribit Stormbox Blast vs JBL Partybox 100 (Patreon)

Just wanted to hear how the Tribit would perform against the much larger Partybox and if it would make sense to shoot a public video . Thanks to my open microphones I was able to listen and shoot this video to share my experience with you afterwards. Let me know what you think. In the meantime I will try to perform some measurements and optimise the EQ setting.

@oluv: Wie stufst du die Power vom Blast im Vergleich zum Go&Play ein? Maximallautstärke vom Go&Play reicht mit eigentlich völlig, wie spielt der Blast auf dem Level; lohnt sich der Kauf? Der HK taugt mir, aber die Batterieproblematik vermiest mir bisl den Spaß, hab schon den zweiten Ersatzakku (3rd party) drin... Danke dir 🙋🏻‍♂️

Tribit did a pretty decent job with this speaker, of course it can not beat the Partybox at maximum volume, but it was not that far off and much smaller. A public comparison against the Boombox 2 would be interesting for many, but i think the Tribit will kill it, especially if you find the right eq presets. Also curious to see frequency measurements of the Tribit.

Wenn du vielleicht bei der Größe vom Go&Play bleiben möchtest und das Geld hast, würde ich mir den neuen Teufel Boomster angucken. Top Akku, Bass wird mit Sicherheit auf Go&Play Niveau sein, nur ein Tick zu scharf in den Höhen geraten, aber der Go&Play ebenso. Nur die Stereoverbreiterung ist vielleicht nicht jedermanns Geschmack.

Danke für den Tipp. Stand damals vor der Wahl HK, Boomster NG und Oslo. Backgroundbeschallung für eine kleine Basketballhalle. Der wuchtige (wenn auch nicht sehr detaillierte) Bass und die leicht seitlich abstrahlenden Tweeter waren die Argumente für den HK. Brauchen im eigentlichen Sinn brauch ich keinen BTS, hab momentan um die 25 Modelle hier rumfliegen... 🫣🤭 Aber bei 160 Euro für den Blast fällt mir das Neinsagen mal wieder schwer. Klangbild kann nur ausbalancierter als beim HK sein, demzufolge würd ich nur Power irgendwie einstufen können wollen, habe weder Motion Boom Plus noch Partybox 100, sagt mir also nicht wirklich was, der Vergleich... Der neue Boomster hätt mich schon gereizt, wobei ich leider zu langsam war, als der NG im Sale rausging. Um 350 brauch ich derweil nix Neues, obwohl der Teufel mit Wechselakku, Display, DAB usw. eine richtig gut durchdachtes Konzept ist... *addicted* 🤷🏻‍♂️😂

This is how the JBL Partybox GO should sound It impressive for its size and price, this tribit is even able to keep up with big ones (of course it had no chance basswise) It would be great to compare it to the old Klipsch KMC 3 or the Boomster NG/2021 (they will loose but it’s would be interesting to hear the difference between them)

Ich hätte gesagt mehr als doppelt so laut wie der go+play, der war ja nicht wirklich laut, eher so JBL Xtreme Niveau. Der Tribit ist da schon beeindruckend.

Do you still have the Aiwa Exos 9? This could be also interesting as there are more comparable size and weight wise, although the aiwa is still slightly heavier and bigger. The Aiwa already killed the Boombox, maybe the Tribit can keep up or even beat it.

I sold it long ago, but bass wise it couldn’t compete against the Tribit from what I remember, the Aiwa didn’t have that fat bass although overall maybe slightly more balanced but due to the smaller size I am definitely more impressed with the Tribit. It makes the Partybox obsolete for me as I don’t play them at maximum anyhow and the Tribit still sounds nice at high levels

I think the Aiwa is just better for parties because it’s more powerful but like Oluv said basswise it’s not this fat at moderate volume

Ich hatte mit Code mit ca. 160€ gerechnet, nun hätte ich die Box vorhin für um die 212€ mit dem TRB52 Code bestellen können, allerdings konnte ich mich nicht dazu durchringen. Ich hab auch nichts per Mail erhalten und der Countdown war leider auch ein Witz, plötzlich war das Teil verfügbar und laut Anzeige 9 Stück verfügbar. Naja, den Verkaufsstart hat Anker ja auch nicht gebacken bekommen, ich warte bis er bei Amazon verfügbar ist.

Tribit seems to have bumped the price since last week and the EU version is now 231 €, also the discount code from June 21 is no longer valid. Quite a big price increase in a short time.. Maybe it's still worth it? Audiowise it would be interesting to compare the Tribit against two UBOOM L's paired and in outdoor/party mode. The dual UBOOM L configuration sounded quite bass heavy in earlier video but how far behind the Tribit is it still?

Er war tatsächlich in den letzten Tagen zwischenzeitlich für ein paar Stunden auf Amazon bestellbar mit 1-Tages Lieferung jedoch zum Preis von 249€. Das war mir dann auch zu viel, vor allem in Anbetracht des sonst angepriesenen "Early Bird" Preises. Irgendwie können die sich auch nicht bei dem Preis entscheiden... Er ist jetzt auf Amazon für 229,99€ gelistet.

It was clear that the price would go up, the Tribit is simply too strong for the money under 200 euros and everyone only reports positively for the most part. they quickly tightened the screw upwards :D I'll wait or buy it used I'm happy to pay 100 to 150 euros for it. But first the Earfun Uboom L :)

Ich habe vom Tribit Support nun den Amazon Coupon der eigentlich per Mail hätte kommen sollen erhalten: EDM5220AM Damit erhält man zwar nur 20€ Rabatt, aber dennoch immerhin besser als nichts 😅 Die Erklärung für den höheren Preis ist folgende: "Sorry, because there are still some local taxes and VAT in Europe, so the selling price in Europe will be higher." "There is a VAT in Europe and we have to pay 20% tax about it."

Immer noch "günstig" - aber 210 statt 160 ist schon ein Unterschied... So oder so, es gab noch keine einzige Tribit-Premiere, die reibungslos und fehlerfrei über die Bühne gegangen ist. Eigentlich lachhaft, die sind seit 2017/18 am Markt... Egal ob es nicht funktionierende Coupons, falsche Produktbeschreibungen (TWS beworben obwohl nur Party Mode verfügbar ist) oder die verstümmelte App... Die BTS sind bis auf den Surf und den Stormbox Pro richtig gut, die TWS zum Vergessen, Marketing und Politik unter aller Kanone. Support hingegen ist wiederum immer bemüht und kulant.

Hey Oluv was denkst du beim Vergleich Vifa Copenhagen 2.0 vs Tribit Stormbox Blast? Bin nämlich am überlegen mir die Tribit zu holen wegen der Akkulaufzeit und dem Wasserschutz

Hi Oluv do you think the Tribit is more comparable to the PartyBox 110? I remember that one was much better than the PB100 in terms of treble quality, like the Tribit is, but it lacked the deep bass extension that made the PB100 special, like the Tribit also lacks. Maybe the PB110 lacks it due to tuning and the Tribit lacks it due to size/power. Or perhaps just because they are both sealed waterproof designs and the PB100 was open port. I wish that I could get a waterproof speaker without giving up that deep bass quality of the PB100.

Let me know if your unit gets sent out, since I ordered a US one too but the support says that "This way not available". If the system allows ordering the US Version with shipping to Germany why wouldn't it be available? Then they should prohibit the possibility of ordering it outside US in the first place. I don't really know what they mean by that but I remember having read that somebody from Europe received his unit even though he ordered the US one.

I can say I like my stormbox blast much more than my pair of Partybox 100s, but everything has tradeoffs. I really don't think you're giving up much of anything by moving to a stormbox blast, it goes almost as deep at normal volume levels. For the size, it's really shocking how deep it goes. If you really need something that goes deeper, sounds good and has some water resistance there's really only the very large and heavy Partybox 310. I really think the stormbox blast is the perfect size to bring with you. I hated lugging my Partybox 100s around, they are just a bit too heavy to want to carry

Dessen bin ich mir bewusst. Ist aber schließlich nichts anderes als ein konventioneller 2-Poliger Kaltgerätestecker der benötigt wird. Sollte demnach also keine Probleme verursachen, da man solche Kabel für wenige Euro nachkaufen kann oder sowieso schon herumliegen hat :D Ich bin mal gespannt ob die Bestellung ankommt. Werde hier natürlich berichten.

Jbl boombox 3 vs jbl encore essential vs tribit stormbox blast wäre interessant. Wobei preislich sich alle 3 massiv unterscheiden, von der Größe und Gewicht aber nicht

Kann man nicht vergleichen, der Tribit bleibt eine Boombox aber eben auf hohem Niveau, der Copenhagen ist eher für Liebhaber von Feinheiten, das kann der Tribt nicht bieten, dafür halt power, fetten Bass und hohe Lautstärken ohne dass er auseinander fällt.

Ich fand die essential auch ganz interessant bis ich die Akkulaufzeit gesehen habe. Ich schleppe das teil doch nicht mit zur party um dann 3 stunden laute musik hören zu konnen, wenn ich glück habe nur 2 auf max volume

Es sieht momentan eher schlecht aus. Habe nämlich eben versucht noch einen zu bestellen, diesmal aber mit Kundenkonto und Fast Shipping. Naja, nach 30 Min kam automatisch eine vollständige Rückerstattung. Kundenservice angeschrieben und nun folgende Nachrichten erhalten: "As you have placed the wrong standard, we have written it clearly on the page description. So the system automatically refunded" "Hope you would understand that we are unable to arrange the US Standard for your region." "And our US Standard is located in our US warehouse, it could only arrange the shipment to US area." Das interessante ist, dass meine Gastbestellung von vorgestern noch nicht storniert wurde. Ich warte mal gespannt ab und schau was passiert.

Ja ich hatte es eben auch probiert und dasselbe wie bei dir kam dabei raus sie scheinen es wohl mittlerweile gefixed zu haben ich warte jetzt bis die EU Version wieder verfügbar ist und dann kauf ich diese halt. Für 200€ ists dann ja immer noch ein sehr guter Deal.

Was mich aber tatsächlich wundert, da ich von anderen Leuten gehört habe das sie das US Version bestellt haben, aber dann trotzdem eins aus Europa zugeschickt bekommen haben. Das war aber auch noch vor Wochen als es keine EU Version gab.

Meine Gastbestellung von letzter Woche wurde nun auch von Tribits Seite aus storniert und zurückerstattet.

I just got my Tribit Blast yesterday and have been actively comparing them, Oluv style, to the Aiwa Exos 9 and Beolit 20. IMO the Aiwa is still the winner by a slim margin in the sound department. Aiwa has more depth, soundstage is larger, more bass, and better balance. It just sounds like a bigger speaker, because it is. I think it’s hard to beat a full 3 way system in the larger cabinet in regards to overall sound quality. But when I say slim margin, I mean slim. The Tribit is mighty impressive in the sound department, sounds fatter at moderate volumes than the Aiwa; more forward sounding. That slim margin coupled with the smaller size, waterproofing and battery life, make the Tribit the overall portable party speaker winner for me. Truly what I expected the Soundcore Motion Boom Plus to be, but sadly, the soundcore was a massive disappointment for me and I returned it (glad I did, I started seeing the radiators expansion issue being talked about after). Keep in mind, this is also coming from a guy who thinks the Beolit 20 sounds incredible (maybe my ears are broken lol), IMO the tribit is a clear winner in the PORTABLE party speaker department, but for normal low level listening the Beolit sounds better, deeper bass, and I can hear the instrument separation and nuances in the music that I have a hard time picking out of the Tribit, but hear clear as day on the Beolit. As I understand, Oluv was not impressed with the Beolit, I am though. The Beolit is also about 2/3 the size and 1/2 the weight of the Tribit (Beolit fits in my backpack), and a lot classier looking and sounding (also 2.5x the cost lol). So in a lot of departments the tribit is the winner, but to me, they have completely different uses. Tribit if I want loud music, I’m outside, camping, partying or by the pool. Beolit 20 if I’m around the house or going to a friends house and want something that I can fit into my backpack and just want to look bougie lol. The Tribit blows me away, the power and loudness are wow level. Makes the Aiwa show its age, a speaker almost half the size can produce sound similar to Aiwa at high volumes, 2/3 the price and battery and waterproof. I might do an Oluv and sell my Aiwa. With the Tribit, it just feels like I’m hoarding speakers if I keep the Aiwa lol. Just for reference, Bluetooth speaker wise I own the B&O Beolit 20, Aiwa Exos 9, B&O Beosound A1 2nd Gen, Soundcore Motion Boom, Harman Kardon Onyx Studio 7 and now the Tribit Stormbox Blast. Might tighten that collection up to only include the Beolit 20, Beosound A1, and Tribit Blast. Seems to be the only 3 I need. The fiendish part of me is really curious to check out the JBL Boombox 3 when it releases on July 15th, looks like it’s basically an Exos 9 (3 Way System) in a boombox format. But listening to the tribit almost makes me think I just have a speaker buying problem (don’t we all lol) if I buy the boombox 3. Looking forward to Oluvs video on the boombox 3 vs the tribit. To be clear, the Aiwa sounds better IMO.

Is the EQ setting for the Blast from Oluv visible anywhere? Or Oluv would you please post your values/settings. I am currently trying to set a musical tuning without the bass distorting at high volumes. Thank you very much. Ist irgendwo die EQ Einstellung für den Blast von Oluv zu sehen? Oder Oluv würdest du bitte einmal deine Werte/ Einstellungen Posten. Versuche aktuell eine musikalische Abstimmung einzustellen ohne das bei hohen Lautstärken der Bass verzerrt. Vielen Dank schon einmal.
