I had to shoot this before finishing my Nubert SP-200 series, as I bought these headphones already some weeks ago, but was so disappointed by the sound/price ratio, that I didn't even touch them since then. I want to return them to get my money back, therefore this video here.

I wonder how all these raving reviews of this crap even dare to be published.

It's like mobile phones... your paying for their advertising budget, name of company, fake review like the whats hifi types... most of these in real terms should be 200 or less... thats why anker , tribit and many more can do more for your money.

I purchased the first PX once years ago, and it was totally not what I expected. With all the follow-up models you can see they are struggling to get things right. I mean PX7 and after that the PX7 S2...???? With the PX8 they did not really bring something new to the table. Yes, it looks nice and feels premium, but my needs are more than a good-looking set of headphones.

My anker soundcore life q30 sounds different to yours. Mine has some boost above 2 kHz, some boost at 8 and 10, and there is not much below 28 hz. I've found a measurement of yours with the q30 which was closer to my unit, but a mixture of 2 of your measurements would be nice. Also, the eq. I have a different setting for the 3 Khz band, at +3, because the sound is very weird with +6 db. It's probably because of android or my unit. I will leave a link with the measurement that represents my q30 a bit more realistically. https://www.dropbox.com/s/x65nbtdj8afcu1z/q30%20real%20sound.jpg?dl=0 but i have a boost at 2Khz compared to the measurement closer in the treble to this one https://www.dropbox.com/s/57m71m3m6yqhpxp/Q35-Q30.png?dl=0 But again, in this freq resp the treble rolls off at 11 kHz, so I'm very confused with all these measurements, all looking different. Could you clarify this, please, Oluv?

All 3 units I tested sounded different. I kept the one which sounded “best” to me and a second pink unit for my wife. Both do not sound equal but are still much better than most others.

How is the build quality in comparison with Airpods Max?

Wow. Another „Loudness player“ on the headphone market. Congrats B&W. Really disapointing headphone on high end price level. What to say about that? Phew…

A good question. I am interested into the answer also…

For 6,000 years I waited for a headphone review from you..........

It’s solid but doesn’t have the same “classy” feeling. Also putting it on can result in some cracking from the drivers. It didn’t give me the same premium feeling as the AirPods Max, those were really in a class of their own from all wireless headphones I have tried so far, therefore I am still tempted in getting them and try to fine tune the sound even more.

Maybe to you, but that is why I subscribed to you. And do not forget you exposed a lot of the companies for inflating prices for no increase in sound, and how you do not need to pay more than a few hundred. That is not nothing, that's very useful for future customers. AND you recorded samples for Senn 58x, those were very useful to me for when I eventually do buy them. Maybe waste of time for you, but that work was useful to me.

Soundcore Life Q30, Earfun Free Pro 2 with Oluvs selections tuning (just brilliant) and the Verum headphones for late night listening on the couch my in/on ear is complete. I have no need chasing anything else.

oluvsgadgets

Do you have Verum MK2 or the old version? I still have MK2 and could make an EQ for it

Raymond Allo

I have the MK2. Can I just say the tuning for the Earfun Free Pro 2 is just amazing. I used the 5450 setting as they worked the best for me. I could not believe how incredible they sound now. It blew my mind. As you get older you hearing starts to decrease, but I am fortunate that my hearing is still amazingly good. But lets face it, you can spend a fortune on hifi equipment but it becomes quickly a game of diminishing returns.

Maybe you are searching at the wrong place. What about trying a smalltalk company with lower prices?! Of course ist could be waste of time but without trying no one knows. Therefore i ask you to give Valco a chance. As headphone the Valco VMK 20 or 25 and they have a little Bluetooth speaker too. It is pbvious that both gadgets won‘t be as good as your tuned ones but maybe they are at last useful to some degree?!

oluvsgadgets

I reviewed the VMK20, it was pretty bad. I doubt the VMK25 can be much better. I once had some discussion with their “sound engineer” who is responsible for their tunings. I am really surprised he can do this for living…

Always love your work Oluv. Those PX8s sure are pretty fashion cans. Unfortunately, the HiFi business knows they'll sell because of that.
