Marshall middleton has in front and the back one tweeter and pasive radiator but the right and left side has the woofer

Tinny kitchen radio? LOL it actually has quit a full sound at least below 50% volume. i have the middleton here at my work and my Uboom L and the middleton makes the uboom L sound very unimpressive in terms of fullness of bass.. however for normal music the uboom L is better. i did not expect the bass to be so deep. i do agree its not great at high volumes. bass has no punch i agree. but its deep bass resonance is impressive. i listen to garbage bass boosted stuff as i love bass. i like deep bass over punchy bass. for normal music i don't like the Middleton. lacks treble clarity and mid to upper bass kick. but i have mine at work in a corner. i have bass maxed and treble at 5. this gives me a very full sound at low levels with deep rumble. for the crap i liston to this speaker is awesome. i cant play it very loud as i dont want to disturb people. the bass impact with my corner placement is impressive. but if i take it home it sound like shit. my room has a lot of sound deadening so bass gets absorbed. its like a different speaker at work vs at home. super odd effect. i think its because the bass drivers are on the sides rather then front and back. the front and back have the passive radiators and tweeter. weird driver set up.

The bass is very fake. Below 50hz it’s just added upper tones, has no dynamics and gets lost completely at higher levels. It’s some added hum with no attack and no kick. The Motion Boom is way more real and keeps this bass for way longer.

i agree. i added more to my comment above to why i still like it for at my work. for normal music its not great but for the bass boosted garbage i like i find it impressive at low volumes which is all i can do at work to not bother people. I do hope Marshall sees this and improves it with a software update. but i doubt they will. I dont think they should of put the woofers on the sides. kinda weird. i took mine apart and the woofers are a pancake flat woofer. must be neodymium. cant even see a magnet lol. i took photos. woofers are make by easttech model ASDWL2001-0401. first time i have seen a woofer like this. i have a motion boom plus and its the complete opposite of the Middleton. that one has tons of mid to upper bass kick, its impressive. but it rolls off at 50hz.

Could you please upload the photos somewhere and share them with us? I can’t take mine apart as it will definitely go back. I just listened side by side with the Helsinki and the Marshall sounds so weird compared.

people who dont understand sound quality like Flossy Carter said the middleton was the best thing since slice bread. all the tracks he played had no mids and treble. all bass that falls into the middletons sweet spot with that deep bass resonance. he said it blows away the extreme 3. its exactly that fake bass he likes lol. imo the extreme 3 did most things better. also he was sponsored by Marshall.

I personally like he rockster cross from Treufel in this category most so far (minirigs better but more expensive). Only the treble on the rockster cross is a little metallic. the boomster 2 is a little better but not as small and for outdoor

When you increased the volume to max with the middleton, it reminded me of bose where everything is out of control, bass, mids, highs are fighting against each other, the music tones have become off

It's really not worth the effort for this piece of crap, I think. But still, just as a ideea, it should be compared to a jbl xtreme 3 or a 1.1 minirig setup which will absolutely kill it.

Yeah. It arrived today, compared the Middleton with my Soundcore X600, and I will return it, I was expected more for the price and on some songs I don’t like the fake sound it produced! But I admit it look very nice in cream color :)
